Reflection

Awaits with bated breath! That is such a fantastic idea, don’t you think? That phrase seems to be an oxymoron. It is not that. Imagine a groom standing at the end of the aisle, anticipating the arrival of his wife. Imagine for a moment that you are the parents of a child who is about to be born. Think back to how excited you were as a kid to get your presents on Christmas morning. Awaits with bated breath! This is what creation, which is so entangled with deterioration, catastrophe, and death, is accomplishing! And what is it that creation is so eagerly anticipating? Our metamorphosis and the unveiling of who we are as the victorious and wonderful children of God. It seems like a pretty amazing possibility for a time and world like ours.

My Prayer

I yearn for the day, O Lord, God of all creation and the source of all redemption, when every tear will be dried up and my bondage to decay will come to an end. Please help me keep my focus on the glory that will be shown when Christ comes back to earth. I humbly pray to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
