Happy October everyone! It's the month to be spooky when the leaves change. Unfortunately, like the leaves, so do our grades. Which is why we need to have study spots to call our own. I'm the type to have a quiet surrounding while other times, I crave cafe noises. Certain spaces can train our brain to function easily. Here are some study areas I recommend on campus.
1. Bloom Bakery in Public Square
I chose this place because I adore the pastries and bread there. Today, I had the sourdough toast with jam while studying. There's something about eating and studying at the same time that gives you a burst of energy. Studying during common hour can be nice because there's not a lot of people. Also, there's a beautiful electric fireplace in front of me. Sadly, it's not heated, which is understandable due to a fire hazard. However, if you do need to take a quick break, read a book or mediate for a while and feel your soul at ease.
2. Starbucks at the Hanna Building
Every student has gone to Starbucks at least once. If not in this building than one nearby your location. There's something about the smell of coffee, the sounds of people talking and students buried in their books and laptops gives you a satisfying sigh. Mainly because, your brain will allow you to focus even more since the smell of coffee can wake you up. If I'm studying here, then it would be around 4 p.m. because that's when I'm the most focused there.
3. Business building, 3rd floor
If you're here early in the morning like before 10 a.m., then you would notice it is dead quiet. That's when I'm here studying. Sure, it's next to the elevators but at least there's an outlet here. Mind your business studying here and no one will bother you.
4. 2nd floor, law building
If you've been to the law building then you would have noticed this piano. It is on the way to the Innerlink. Plus, you have a beautiful view of the Business building and a part of Cleveland. My heart beats fast whenever I'm here. After I've studied, I shall play the piano. Am I any good? Of course not, I'm a beginner after all. Although, I enjoy classical music so if anyone is a music major, please come play here so I can bask in the glory that is your talent.
Personally, I would love to review notecards in a place with no one around. Mainly because I like to say it aloud, that way I could remember it. Although, there are times where I crave a setting with people around that are also being productive with their time. Which is why, I've provided some places that are quiet and some places where there are others around.
