If you're not one of those people that watch Christmas movies year round (like me), here are some suggestions to start watching for this holiday season!!!

I'm a huge fan of old movies, here's a list of my favorite!

1. Miracle on 34th Street

When a nice old man claims to be Santa Claus and is institutionalized as insane, a lawyer decides to defend him and prove that he is, in fact, the real Santa Claus. Now if this doesn't make you wanna watch a movie, I don't know what will.

2. It's a Wonderful Life

An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperate, unhappy businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed.

3. Holiday Inn

At an inn that is only open for the holidays, two friends become competitive in their similar love interest. This movie includes tons of song and dance and is great for all audiences.

4. White Christmas

A successful song-and-dance team becomes romantically involved with a sister act and team up to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general. This movie is said to be a loose remake of Holiday Inn and features the same song from the first movie: "White Christmas."

5. A Christmas Story

Ralphie, a young boy, tries to convince his parents to get him a Red Ryder BB gunfire Christmas. The movie includes tons of humor and is definitely one of my favorites from this list! For anyone wanting to watch this, TBS airs a 24-hour marathon each year starting Christmas Eve.

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Now this one is probably a little more popular than the others. The plot includes a fed up, cranky, grinch who comes up with a plan to steal Christmas away from Whoville. The Who's however, learn how to make the holiday great even after all their gifts are stolen.

7. Home Alone

Kevin, an adorable 8 year-old-boy, has to protect his house from burglars after he is left home alone while his family is on their Christmas vacation. Kevin learns how important family is to him and also how to kick some burglar butt!

8. The Santa Clause

The final (and most recent) movie on the list is The Santa Clause! This one includes a random man who accidentally kills Santa Clause and soon finds that he is turning into Santa himself. They also came out with 2 more movies after this one and they are all amazing.

Christmas is the best time of the year and if you have any spare time this Christmas season, you should give these movies a try! There's nothing like spending the day watching old movies.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
