There are a ton of amazing songs that you can listen to on repeat, but for most tunes, they inevitably get old or over played. This stinks because it’s a good song that is still appreciated, you’re sick of hearing it; this is the reason why covers are so great. I love covers because it is a fun way to revamp a song so that it can be fully appreciated once again. It’s also awesome to hear your favorite artists singing songs by your other favorites. I compiled a list of amazing covers that deserve as much love as the originals.

1. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson –EDEN Cover

Another iconic classic remade into a unique different genre.

2. Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears- Lorde Cover

This is a peppy 80’s jam that Lorde remakes to give it a different much more serious and haunting feel.

3. Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presly- Haley Reinhart Cover

This song has so many remakes, but Haley Reinhart’s is by far the best because it will hit you so hard in the feels every time like no other version can.

4. Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi- Lissie Cover

Lissie gives this rap/R&B song an indie vibe with this live cover that you can’t listen to without smiling.

5. Starboy by The Weeknd- SHAED Cover

This song is a jam but got played to death on the radio, so the SHAED cover gives it the refresh the song needed so that it could continue to be a jam.

6. Stayin’ Alive- Say Lou Lou

Until I heard the Say Lou Lou remix I knew this song as the song you use to keep the rhythm when giving CPR. Thankfully, this cover saved the song.

7. This is How We Do by Montell Jordan- AlunaGeorge Cover

This original of this song is an oldie, but a goodie, and AlunaGeorge’s cover brings the party song into the 21st century with her remake.

8. Don’t Let Me Down by Chainsmokers- Dirty Heads Cover

The Dirty Head’s give their signature reggae alternative rock sound to the popular dance song, giving the remake a cool 180 change from the original.

9. One Dance by Drake- Broods Cover

One Dance is such a good song that there have been tons of covers, but Brood’s cover gives the song a needed genre change.

10. Girl Crush by Little Big Town- Harry Styles Cover

Harry Styles can do no wrong and proves this once again with this remake.

11. How Will I know by Whitney Houston- Sam Smith Cover

Sam Smith turns this iconic 80’s song into a modern heartfelt love ballad that will make you swoon.

12. Take Care by Drake - Florence and the Machine Cover

The original version of the song is one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time, so that fact that I like Florence and the Machine’s cover as much as (if not more than) the original must mean it’s pretty good.

13. Problem by Ariana Grande- Hozier Cover

This song was another one that was a jam but got old really fast; Hozier’s cover uses his calm tone and mix with Warren G’s “Regulate” give the song a new vibe.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
