What's been going on in the realm of my Netflix world this entire semester has been Parks and Rec. Episode by episode, I grew to love the various personalities of each character and the countless number of chuckles and hearty laughs I encountered. And last night, I finished the series finale of Parks & Rec with a content heart and tears in my eyes.

Why? Because I had grown so attached not only to the relationships that were formed and how they changed throughout the series but I also resonated with the life lessons and transitions that everyone faced.

I know, I know. I'm so far behind the curve of keeping up with modern sitcoms that for some, the following article might be old news for some. But I couldn't help and reflect on all of the meaningful takeaways I got from the show. So here they are:

1. If you're lucky enough to find a friend that will go so very far out of their way to make your life better in the biggest or smallest ways, keep them around.

2. Be with the one who makes you a better person. No questions asked.

3. Keep striving for what you've always wanted because it's possible. But, keep in mind, that it may not be what you expected, & it's okay to be disappointed, but be open-minded about where it might lead you next.

4. Recognize and appreciate the people in your life who taught you the things you carry with you every day.

5. Although we're all different, there are many ways to connect with one another.

6. Sometimes failing multiple times is the only way to success.

7. Really try to get to know the people that surround you every day because you want to establish an environment that is enjoyable and warm. For your sake as well as everyone else's as well. (Don't be a Ron Swanson. Let your Leslie mold you.)

8. When you're friends move on to different things, be sure to treasure the past, present, and future you'll have with them.

9. Even with a busy, hectic schedule, life will bring more opportunities. Take them.

10. Somewhere along the way, someone will recognize your potential and persistence if you keep trying.

11. Remember why you started in the first place.

12. Don't forget to love yourself first.

13. Recognize when you make mistakes and learn from them.

12. Be a healthy amount of rational and irrational. Life's all about the balance.

13. You do you, and the right person will come along at the right time.

14. Always ask your friends how they are. Sometimes people have it harder than you realize and don't want to openly share it with you. They may need a little push.

15. A lot of the times, people will be unreasonable and harsh for no reason, and they may never change. But don't let that affect you. All you can do is push forward and move on.

16. Let your heart grow with your relationships and life transitions. It'll make you a better person.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
