I have spent most of my time reading books, and I feel like pieces of my heart remain with the characters I've encountered. I've decided to make a list of the characters I genuinely love despite the fact that they're fictional (and therefore unattainable). Also, so you might see why I love them, I've included quotes!
1. Edmund Pevensie, "The Chronicles of Narnia"
"But even a traitor may mend. I have known one that did."
2. Peter Pan, "Peter Pan"
"You know that place between sleep and awake, that place where you still remember dreaming? That's where I'll always love you. That's where I'll be waiting."
3. Huckleberry Finn, "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"
"That's just the way with some people. They get down on a thing when they don't know nothing about it."
4. Ponyboy Curtis, "The Outsiders"
"Just don't forget that some of us watch the sunset too."
5. Johnny Cade, "The Outsiders"
"You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want. There's still a lot of good in the world."
6. Gilbert Blythe, "Anne of Green Gables"
"Hey, carrots. Carrots!"
7. Augustus Waters, "The Fault in Our Stars"
"You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don't give it the power to do its killing."
8. Jay Gatsby, "The Great Gatsby"
"He had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced, or seemed to face, the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor."
9. Samwise Gamgee, "The Lord of the Rings"
- "There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."
10. Mr. Darcy
"In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
