The holidays around this time of year is considered the best time of the year. You're surrounded by your loved ones and it's the time of year of giving and getting. Even though it's considered the best time of the year, sometimes people don't make the most of it. Life is about being spontaneous and if you want to make the most of your holiday season, this bucket list for the holidays can get you started.

1. Go to New York City.

Even though NYC might be a little too overcrowded during this time of year, it's considered one of the most beautiful places during the holidays. Go see the giant Christmas tree and just be spontaneous in the city. You will find yourself meeting many different people and sightseeing a lot more. Endure the cold and go to NYC to fully be in the holiday spirit.

2. Look at Christmas lights.

Driving through never-ending neighborhoods and looking at all the Christmas lights, or going to carnivals and looking at all the Christmas lights that are put up. Looking at Christmas lights puts you in the holiday mood and everything is just so pretty and bright. This is one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season.

3. Go ice skating.

Even if you aren't good at ice skating, or skating in general, go at least once. It's definitely an experience and even if you go with a group of friends or your significant other, you will for sure create the best memories. Even if you're holding onto the rail for dear life, be spontaneous and try to have fun with it. If you fall on your butt a few times, don't be negative, laugh about it and keep going. Your friends will definitely remember it for a while, and it will definitely be a memory to hold on to.

4. Have a Christmas movie marathon.

The best way to get in the holiday spirit is to watch as many Christmas movies as you can in one day. Cuddle up with some cozy blankets and fuzzy socks with some hot cocoa and just play as many Christmas movies as you can. This is something you can do by yourself or it's even more fun with a group of your friends or your significant other. Christmas movies are the best kinds of movies, especially the classics!

5. Decorate your house/apartment like crazy.

Go off on this. When you're surrounded by Christmas colors and decorations, you get in the best holiday mood. This gets you more and more excited for December 25th and you end up having more friends over your place which creates some good memories to look back on. Also, everyone has a thing for decorating so it's your time to shine on decorating your place for the holidays.

6. Create your favorite holiday playlist.

Go on Spotify or apple music or whatever you have, and create a playlist of your favorite holiday tunes. Create this playlist and blare it throughout the house or in your car when you drive. This will instantly put you in the holiday spirit and might give you some motivation to be spontaneous and go on adventures during this holiday season. Also, who doesn't love some good Christmas music?

7. Get an angel tree gift.

Getting a gift for a child or family in need is one of the best things to do during the holiday season. It's all about giving, and getting a gift for someone in need who isn't able to celebrate Christmas, will make you feel so good inside. It doesn't have to be anything major, but it truly is the thought that counts and the child who gets that gift will smile so bright when they know that someone got them something for Christmas.

8. Make snow globes.

DIY crafts are extremely fun and making your own snow globes is even better. Get creative with it and have some fun. Get a group of friends, play some holiday music, and create as many snow globes as you can. Later on, you can use your new snow globes as decoration or give it to someone as a gift. It will definitely get you in the holiday spirit while creating memories along the way.

9. Go see a Christmas show.

Seeing a Christmas show would be so much fun and gets you in the holiday mood. I've never been to one of these but I've always wanted to and it's on my list this holiday season! Grab some friends to go with you and have fun with it! This will create some of the best memories and you can make it a tradition to see a Christmas show every year.

10. Bake some holiday goodies.

Get into the kitchen and bake some holiday cookies or cakes or cupcakes, whatever it is! It's so much fun and yummy at the same time. Maybe even hand them out to neighbors or give it to others. This should be a tradition every year and having friends with you makes it even more fun. Bring out your inner creativity!

The holidays is a fun and special time for everyone, so make it the best you can with this holiday bucket list. Maybe add some more things to do that I missed - it's all about being spontaneous! There's so much you can do around this time of year, make as many memories as you can.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
