A Letter To My High School Best Friends,
It's the first semester of college and nostalgia has hit harder than ever. Not only am I missing my family, but I miss all of you. The days I got to see you everyday is something I never thought to take for granted. We've gone in different directions, started separate lives, and I want to know how you've been.
I know you've made plenty of friends, what are they like? Tell me what you love about them, what little things they do that get on your nerves, everything. What's it like living away from home? Have you adjusted already, or are you still homesick? How are your classes, are you up until 3am doing homework, too? What about that guy from your class you told me about, have you tried talking to him again? Tell me more about him.
College has been a whole new experience. I'm meeting so many new people, joining clubs I never thought to do before, and slowly learning more about myself. I study harder, have learned to become more outgoing, and slowly realizing what it's like to be truly independent. I hope all this goes for you, too.
There are days when I embrace everything that has been thrown at me. And there are days when I'm homesick and think of all of you.
I know some of us have drifted apart, but know that I'm always here! Even if it's been months since we've last talked, I'm always ready to listen.
Don't hesitate to call! Whether it's at 2 a.m. or in the middle of the day. If it's guy trouble, if you're stressed out about that test, or just want to tell me about your day, I'm here.
