So, I am a woman of culture. I watch only the finest of anime- subbed not dubbed. Jokes aside, I love to explore cultures through movies, tv, music. Outside of Hollywood, there are amazing pieces of work that you probably haven't heard of because they are not as popular in the U.S.
Well, I'd like to change that for you. Of the "foreign" films I've seen throughout my life, I find that French productions are some of the most fascinating out there. No disrespect to Bollywood, but I have to hand it to French films. Here is a select variety of films with ranging MPAA ratings (Ex. PG, PG-13, R, etc.) and remember that ratings in Europe differ from country to country, so a couple of these may be more graphic than you'd expect.
Most of these are either subtitled or translated to English; However, others may not. Without further ado, these are my recommendations for French Films you should be watching right now.

Original Title: "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain"

Would you consider watching any of these? These movies are not for everybody, but they a breath of fresh air compared to the movies Hollywood pumps out. Maybe, this will begin your dive into the foreign cinema scene. I know, there are plenty of other films to appreciate that I have skipped over, but for now, this is where I leave you. Adieu!
