10 Best And The 10 Worst Dressed At The Oscars 2019

In This Article:

Well, The Oscars have come and gone again this year and it certainly did not disappoint. From Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's romantic duet to Rami Malek's first nomination and first win all in the same night, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. However, it is not so much anxiously awaiting to see who will win that always ropes me in, it's the fashion. I love watching the stars arrive on the red carpet to strut their stuff and I love judging their gowns and tuxes for myself even more. So here are, in my opinion, the 10 best and the worst numbers of the year.

1. Best: Lady Gaga

This queen looked absolutely elegant and breathtaking in a simple black gown. Sometimes simplicity is key.

2. Worst: Rachel Weisz

Scarlett O'Hara made a dress from her window curtains, Rachel Weisz made a dress from her shower curtain.

3. Best: Brie Larson

Sometimes when a dress is that sparkly, it can make someone look like a disco ball, but Brie Larson pulled this number off impeccably.

4. Worst: Kacey Musgraves

So that's where my missing shower loofah went!

5. Best: Charlize Theron

Some say that Charlize Theron missed the fashion mark this year, but I think she hit it spot on. As I stated previously, sometimes simplicity is key.

6. Worst: Maya Rudolph

Maya, I love you, but this was definitely not your best look.

7. Best: Amy Adams

The intricately embroidered dress was a winner in my book this year and Amy Adams is a winner in my book every day.

8. Worst: Linda Cardellini

I, for one, am not a fan of ruffles in general, but this dress was way over the top.

9. Best: Laura Harrier

This dress was probably my favorite this year - a beautiful color and beautiful embroidery for a beautiful woman!

10. Worst: Emma Stone

Good thing Emma has her suit of armor on for battle!

11. Best: Constance Wu

Yellow is not an easy color to pull off, but Constance Wu did it brilliantly.

12. Worst: Gemma Chan

Don't stare at her Gemma Chan's dress for too long, your eyes will start to hurt!

13. Best: Allison Janney

Allison Janney knocked it out of the park this year which only reaffirms the fact in my mind that she can do no wrong.

14. Worst: Glenn Close

And the award for "Best Imitation of an Actual Oscar" goes to....

15. Best: Kiki Layne

Kacey Musgraves, take notes, this is how you pull off pink.

16. Worst: Sarah Paulson

Sarah must have been channeling her "American Horror Story" training because this dress gave me nightmares.

17. Best: Henry Golding

Henry Golding honoring the Golden Age of Hollywood in this swanky tux? YES PLEASE!

18. Worst: Olivia Colman

Good thing Olivia Colman won an Oscar this year because she was definitely not going to be winning "Best Dressed."

19. Best: Billy Porter

Billy Porter definitely wins the award for "Most Unique." #Slayme

20. Worst: Tessa Thompson

Was anyone else reminded of the leg lamp from "A Christmas Story?" Sorry Tessa, but I don't think that's what you were going for.

Some honorable mentions in the "best" category include Regina King, Melissa McCarthy, Helen Mirren, Emilia Clarke, Amandla Stenberg, and Elsie Fisher.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
