The Stamp food court

Stamp is the obvious choice for the best on the list. There's so many options to choose from, and it's great to get away from diner food and have some "real food" every once in awhile. I mean who can say no to Chick-Fil-A?

251 North

251 North is the king of the diners. Their options are out of this world, and there's so much to choose from. Their pasta station is like visiting an actual Italian restaurant. They have alcoves for the different stations which makes it feel a bit fancier than the other diners, and the desserts outdo the other diner's desserts by a long shot.

The Farmers Market

Every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can find the UMD farmers market outside of Stamp. There's food trucks, fresh fruit vendors, a Maryland Dairy table, and lots of other organic options. Although you have to use actual money here, it's worth it to get some fresh fruit or even treat yourself to some Maryland Dairy.

North Diner

This is the one where I'm usually found due to the proximity of my dorm. North diner is cute because it's styled with a retro theme. The options are plentiful, but they have the same thing every week so it gets old very quickly. I'm personally a huge fan of the quesadillas and soft serve!

South Campus Diner

South Campus diner is definitely my least favorite because it seems like there's no options. The pizza is not even close to as good as the north campus diner, but I may be a tad bit bias. I don't tend to go to South Campus diner a lot because it's on the opposite side of campus from me, but I've heard their ramen noodle bar is exceptional.

Cafès

There are loads of cafes scattered around campus that should not be taken for granted. Most of them sell Starbucks products, a bonus, and have everything from chips to bakery items to protein bars. They're great places to grab a quick lunch or a coffee on the go in between classes. There's some type of cafe in almost every building on campus, so always be on the lookout!

There are great options at every choice, so don't stress too much about where to eat your next meal!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
