Some people like to watch horror movies while others do not. I cannot take horror movies. I also cannot look at some horror movie covers. They scared me a lot. I know that if I read a horror book that has a movie adaptation, then I am not going to read that book because I do not want to watch the horror movie.
If you are planning to watch a horror movie, then just be very careful. Be aware that you might have trouble sleeping tonight and cannot stand your dark room for the night. Your mind will replay scenes from the horror movie and trigger the fear. The fear will feel worse if you are at home by yourself with no one to accompany you. Sometimes, it will take days for the fear to go away.
Be aware of the horror that you can take. Some horror movies are very scary, gruesome, and gory to the extent that people cannot take them. Some people got scared to the extent that they cannot conquer the fear and let the fear negatively take over their emotional and mental health. If the horror movie that you are checking out is too much for you, then my advice is to not watch it. Fortunately, some horror movies are not as scary as they appear to be. Those are the ones that you can watch.
When you are watching a horror movie, you should watch it with someone that you know. That someone can feel the fear as you are feeling the fear. That way, you do not feel alone. However, that someone must be able to withstand horror movies. Do not push others to watch horror movies with you if they cannot take them. Just find someone else that can handle them.
My advice may sound horrifying, but it does sound precautionary.
