8 Reasons Why I Want To Be A Cat, God's Best Creation

Ever get tired of your life as a human? Yeah, me too.

We work all day, come home exhausted, and only get to sleep for 8 hours - and that's if we're lucky! Sometimes I look at my three cats and wish I could live a life like theirs. Think about it. Not only would you not have to go to work, but you could have a house to yourself all day long. What freedom!

For the college students reading this . . . no more homework and exams!!

1. Unlimited naps

No more worrying about bills or priorities or to-do lists. The most important thing you have to do all day is sleep! You could nap in the human's bed, on the couch, or on a cozy blanket.

2. Warm blankets

You get all of the blankets in the house to yourself! Since the humans are gone all day, you can wrap yourself up in the blankets and get fur all over them without being yelled at. You can worry about that later - for now, enjoy the blanket.

3. Lounging in the sun

No beach needed. Just a nice floor (tile, carpet, hardwood . . . anything works, really) and a bright patch of sunlight and you're set. You could even bring your blanket with you - think of the possibilities!

4. Snuggles with human friends

The humans are usually more than willing to snuggle with you. If they're patting their laps, they especially want to snuggle. But even if they're just sitting there, you can jump up on them any time to get some quality snuggles.

5. Behind-the-ear scratches

For this, all you have to do is rub against their legs and meow until they give in. Then, the humans will give you all the behind-the-ear scratches, belly rubs, and pets you could ever want!

6. Laser pointer chasing

Constant entertainment! Humans usually have the elusive red dot in their pockets. They never really let you catch it, but it's such a fun game that you always want to try.

7. Human servants

Humans will do anything for you (as long as you don't scratch their furniture, eat their bowl-fish, or knock over their drinks). Anything. They bring you food and water every day without you even having to ask! What service. They also give you unlimited hugs, scratches, and nuzzles. If you're lucky they may even give you a brush while you're sun-bathing.

8. Being antisocial whenever you want

The best part about being a cat is being able to hide from humans and other cats whenever you want. You don't ever have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. You don't have to go to work. You don't have to be forced to go to a party you don't want to go to. You can stay at home all the time. I can't think of anything better!

Would being a cat be the best thing ever? Absolutely! I think I'd love being a cat for about a week (or maybe a month...or year), but eventually, I'd miss actually doing things. I'd be bored!

I think I'll keep on living my life as a human for now. I'd rather count my blessings and focus on the things that are going well in my life instead of the things I wish I could change. It's definitely fun to dream about being something we aren't, but let's keep that as a dream. Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Cherish the life you live and the cards you've been dealt. (But it's always okay to fantasize about your cat-life.)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
