Last Night, the night of November 13th, Liverpool pop trio BBMAK brought their Nostalgia fueled acoustic set to the Gramercy theater, in Manhattan. The New York City show was their first show in the united states in nearly fifteen years, and what an amazing comeback it was. Playing all their infectiously catchy fan favorites such as "I'm not in love", "Still on your Side", "Unpredictable", opening with "out of my Heart" and closing with "Get You Through The Night", the group of English boys left a crowd of a couple hundred fans singing along to every song they played. "It feels like 2000 again", cheered lead guitarist Stephen McnNally, and with the still gorgeous harmonies on the more raw renditions of their classic tunes gracing the night, I'm sure everyone in that crowd could agree. Fans both new and old were left dancing and singing along.
The group also peppered in some excellent covers of Extreme's 80s ballad, "More Than Words" and Daft Punk's dance hall groove, "Get Lucky", both of which they made uniquely their own with their iconic vocal harmonies. Adding in their Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls Vocalist) collab song "always Know where you are", an encore set composed of "The Ghost of You and me" and "Back Here", and even a brand new song, titled "Bullet Train" made for a perfect set list.
Thats right! Brand New BBMAK. After playing the new track, the group announced that they were, "Back, and back for good this time". The new song was a great taste of whats to come for BBMAK, as they mentioned that they have a new album in the works, anticipated to be released sometime in 2018. With that exciting news to sit on for a little while, on could say that Stephen Mcnally, Christian Burns, and Mark Barry really are "Back Here".
All in all, BBMAK put on an incredibly captivating and intimate throwback show. If you happen to be In chicago this thursday, the 15th, or LA next Monday, the 19th,they have two more shows on the US Mini Tour, at he Back Room House of Blues in Chicago and The Belasco in LA. These are shows that any BBMAK fan, or even any 2000's pop music fan in general, is not gonna want to miss.
Also be sure to check out their recent releases of acoustic versions of "Back Here" and "Out of My Heart" which are both nice little tastes of what their acoustic show was all about, and available on all music platforms.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
