The new Batman v. Superman trailer was recently released for this film that will grace a movie theater near you on March 25, 2016. This trailer has given me mixed feelings for this movie in general. One of the biggest reasons that I say this is because even though this trailer is incredibly active and hype driven there is one tiny problem with it. That problem is that the trailer seems to give away too much of the film itself.
One of the biggest reveals that this trailer provided for audiences was the reveal of the main villain that would end up uniting batman and superman in the end. This villain is Doomsday and for those of you who are not major comic geeks like I am, his reveal in this trailer is huge not only for this movie but for the entire cinematic universe that Warner Brothers is attempting to create. Doomsday is a villain who was introduced during the 90s who ends up killing Superman. Yes, you read that correctly, Doomsday is one of the few villains to actually kill the unkillable Man of Steel. Now you see why this reveal is so huge in this trailer.
Another reveal from this trailer was that money shot of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman from the end of the trailer. This is the type of shot that I think should really be saved for the movie those kind of shots really get the audience are great when they are revealed for the first time on the big screen.
However, that doesn't mean that I disappointed by this trailer. Not by a long shot this trailer has gotten me extremely excited for the future of this series especially when it comes to seeing Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot together on the screen. Especially Ben Affleck after seeing this trailer I think that he will be pull off an amazing Bruce Wayne and Batman which is hard to accomplish for most actors.
There is one thing I have a slight complaint about and that is some of Jesse Eisenberg's work as Lex Luthor. For me I try to reserve final judgements until I have seen the final product for myself but I just don't like some of dialogue that the writers have given him or the way that he is interpreting their script. But I will wait until the movie comes out to save my final thoughts on his casting.
So for now I will wait for the film to be released, but this trailer has definitely given me plenty of footage to peak my excitement for the time being. Especially in terms of the interactions between Superman and Batman within the film.
And if you have been living under a rock for the past few days and haven't seen the new trailer yet check it out here.
