With great thinking, I’ve come to the deep conclusion that a good bath can cure almost every single problem in life.

Of course, I came to this reality while soaking in a bath for 45-minutes after what felt like the longest day of my life. But it’s with a true conclusion that almost all of your problems can be solved with a tub of warm water.

As long as you have all of the right necessities and ingredients it takes, you’re well on set to improving any bum mood with the help of one good bath (or six).

Here are 11 ways to make baths that can cure (almost) everything:

1. Bath bombs.

Everyone, I mean hopefully everyone, has heard of a bath bomb. With the help of franchise businesses like Lush, bath bombs are glorious things. Even if you can find them at places other than lush, a singular bath bomb can amplify any bath and take it to the next level. Not only does it smell good, and make your body feel soft and freshly moisturized, but all the pretty colors make for a good picture opportunity. There are also many recipes out there for homemade bath bombs!

2. A good movie or music playlist.

The beauty of baths is that it’s (hopefully) all the time in the world you can get to yourself. No one is going to barge into the bathroom on you or interrupt what little peace you have left. The other beauty of that is you have the ability to play any movie or show you want or listen to any kind of music. Grab a laptop, set it a stool or box and just soak in the tub and relax. You don’t even have to watch anything; you can listen to music or even a podcast or book.

3. Bath Caddy.

If you don’t know what a bath caddy is, it’s one of those things that you’ve always seen in pictures that’s like a tray that goes over the width of a tub so you can put things on top of it. They’re usually pretty simple features, able to hold a drink, a book, a candle, whatever your choice may be. Something that is deemed pretty simple can really amplify your bath.

4. Bath oils.

Much like bath bombs, bath oils also have a very gifted power. The luxury that bath oils carry within them is almost sacred. There are many different bath oils that are really beneficial to your body as well. Lavender oil works and an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, it’s also very calming and a good remedy for insomnia and sleep. Also, if you’re really not into baths, bath oil drops can be spread on the bottom of a shower and the steam will help bring out the aroma of the oils.

5. A waterproof pillow.

What could possibly make any bath better than a pillow? And the fact that it’s waterproof? Even better. There are attachable pillows that typically suction cup to bathtubs to make it even. Baths are pretty comforting, to begin with, but with the added pleasure of a pillow, it just makes it that much better.

6. Mood lighting.

Adding any type of lighting to any setting automatically makes it better. Adding candles and twinkly lights to a bath? Major upgrade. Setting the mood and scene for a bath makes it so much more peaceful and relaxing. Being able to enjoy what’s around you makes it that much better. There are even such things as waterproof submergible lights if you want to get that fancy.

7. Facemasks.

Being in a bath while wearing a facemask is almost like killing two birds with one stone. You’re in the luxury of helping your body and relaxing, while also giving yourself a probably much needed facial. For me, one of the biggest drags about facemasks is waiting for them to dry! Being in a bath makes it so you don’t even think about the process because you’re already in the zone of relaxation.

8. Chocolate.

This is one that’s always on the fence to me, but when is chocolate ever a bad idea? Soaking in a hot bath while snacking on chocolate, or any snack of your choice could make the bath that much better. Pamper yourself completely, anything to make it better.

9. Bubbles!

Along with bath bombs and bath oils, bubbles also make every bath better. Do a combination of all three if that’s what fancies your interest. Bubble baths were always a treat as a kid and who says they aren’t when you’re older?

10. A good book.

Warning, be sure to do this tip with caution. One of my biggest excuses for not reading enough books is not having enough time. But having a weekly bath to relieve stress is the perfect opportunity to read a good book. Obviously be careful not to get it wet, but that’s when the bath caddy comes in handy!

11. A warm towel.

This one can be determined as to where your drying machine is compared to your bath, but a nice, plush warm towel after soaking in a bath is always a must. Maybe you have a roommate who’s nice enough to bring you your warmed towel if the dryer is far. But a warm towel is something you’ll never be upset about after getting out of the bath.

A good bath is always accomplishable even if it’s just a plain tub filled with water and pure silence.

I am a firm believer that a good soak in a hot bath can cure a lot of problems and stress you have, for at least an hour anyway.

Whether you have an hour or 10 minutes to relieve your body of stress and worry, a bath is always a number one priority.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
