"Game of Thrones" season seven potentially promises a new occupant of the Iron Throne. There will be multiple face-offs, more deaths, and lots of twists. Let's not forget how we got to where we are now. Season six gave us deaths and battles that made our hearts and minds jump every week. Thanks to talented characters and well-written episodes, we get to enjoy more Sunday nights of wonderful television. Along for the ride this season, aside from Ned Stark (it still stings), are some characters that bring an amazing storyline to life.
Here are some of "Game of Thrones" most badass characters, the ones who steal the scene and who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty:
13. Petyr 'LittleFinger' Baelish
LittleFinger comes from small holdings. He challenged Brandon Stark to a duel for Catelyn's hand, losing and being cast out of Riverrun. He made himself an important political player by using his brothels to spy on and bribe his clients into getting what he wants. Let's not forget, he helped take back the North.
12. Samwell Tarly
Sam entered our screens and the Night's Watch as an untalented, but loyal guy who is pitiful at fighting. Since then, he's killed a white walker, stolen his father's sword, and made it to the Citadel. He will now be training to become a full-fledged Maester.
11. Missandei
A slave interpreter, Missandrei expressed diplomacy in translating Danaerys and Kraznys' business. She becomes an advisor and translator to Danaerys and advises Tyrion in his meeting with the Masters of Essos. Without her, Danaerys could probably not have the impact that she has had thus far.
10. Melisandre
Melisandre was once a slave who becomes the Red Priestess. She serves as an advisor to Stannis Baratheon and gives birth to a Shadow to assassinate Renly. She also convinces Stannis to sacrifice his only daughter to the Lord of Light. She later revives Jon Snow. Not saying that her actions are all commendable, but they definitely stand out as badass.
9. Tyrion Lannister
He's the smartest Lannister. He is appointed the King's Hand to Joffrey and defends King's Landing in battle. After becoming Master of Coin and then being accused of Joffrey's murder, he seeks Danaerys. His skill and experience enable him to be the Queen's Hand.
8. Bran Stark
Bran will become an even bigger badass in Season Seven. After being paralyzed, he begins to experience weird dreams. It is revealed that he has The Sight and is now the Three-Eyed Raven.
7. Sansa Stark
At first, Sansa seemed like the girl who was just trying to get married off into the royal family. She was strong enough to put up with Joffrey, but somehow also seemed to fall like putty into his hands. She had to watch her dad be beheaded by her future husband's command. When she leaves King's Landing she is then married to Ramsey Bolton, another psycho. Escaping again, she finds Jon and they can take back Winterfell.
6. Eddard Stark
He was the Lord of Winterfell and the Hand of King Baratheon. He died for standing up for what he believed in. He revealed the truth of Joffrey being a bastard and it was painful to see him executed for what was right.
5. Brienne of Tarth
She fights like women in her society shouldn't. She pledges her loyalty to Catelyn, even after her death. She kills Stannis to avenge Renly, who she loved.
4. Cersei Lannister
She's the woman we love to hate. She would do anything for her children and will destroy anything in the way of Lannister success. She is shameless in her pursuit of power after her children have all died. I hate to see her as Queen, but her attitude as a badass female is also satisfying.
3. Jon Snow
From bastard son to King of the North, how could he not be so high on the list? He joined the Night's Watch and becomes Lord Commander later. He is killed for betraying the vows of the Night's Watch but Melisandre revives him. He and Sansa retake Winterfell and he becomes the King of the North.
2. Daenerys Targaryen
She's the Mother of Dragons. She's building an army to take back the Iron Throne all while still being diplomatic and giving the people a choice to serve the cause or to leave. She has not attacked yet, but her fight for the throne could be lethal.
1. Arya Stark
Since a young age, she defied gender roles. She preferred learning about battle rather than sewing, like Sansa. She rejects the notion that she must be married off. She is forced to live on the streets of King's Landing and learns to survive on her own. She begins the process of joining the Faceless Men but abandons it for her family instead.
