Why Back To The Future Should Be An All-Time Favorite

Everyone has their favorite movie; you have the classics such as Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Godfather, and Titanic. These movies are known for being great and garnered several awards. I believe is one of the greatest of all-time is Back to the Future and there are several reasons why.

The Brilliant Screenwriting

One of my favorite things about Back to the Future is the attention to detail in the movie. Almost all of the conversations in the movie tie into another part of the movie. While they are sitting at the kitchen table at the beginning of the movie, they discuss several things that'll happen later in the movie which is very easy to miss because you just assume its filler dialogue. The screenwriting in this movie keeps you thinking and it's awesome to see it all tie together as the movie goes along.

The Amazing Acting of Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown

If you do not get a kick out of watching Doc in Back to the Future, I would question your sense of humor because his character is hilarious. He's always in character even when it's not a scene focused on him. The little things that Lloyd does like roaming in the background, shooting quirky smiles or mixed grins make him such a complete character. Doc is your typical nutty scientist during his time on screen, he constantly keeping you smiling and laughing with his silly contraptions or when he talks to a picture of Thomas Edison for advice.

Marty McFly

The amazing job Christopher Lloyd did playing Doc Brown is one-upped in this movie by the acting job of Michael J. Fox does playing Marty. The only Academy Award this movie won was Best Sound Editing, and neither Fox nor Lloyd was nominated for an award for their impeccable acting performances in this movie. Marty is a protagonist that you want to root for. Is there anything this guy can't do? He's able to defeat Biff in front of City-Hall while riding a two by four with wheels on it. Every time you think he is trouble, he finds his way out of it. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd play so well together in this movie, they seem to have a real bond that makes their characters gel so well with one another.

The movie has a time-traveling DeLorean!

If none of my above points are enough to want to watch and appreciate this movie, this should be. It has a DeLorean that time travels!

P.S. If you watch this movie and enjoy it as much as me....There are two more!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
