Mondays nights, for a large percentage of the population, have turned into "Bachelor night." This absolutely ridiculous yet grossly entertaining reality show has more than 9 million viewers, but why?
Well, myself being one of them, I'll tell you why.
Drama. Americans love drama. Whether its political drama, celebrity drama, and now reality show relationship drama about one guy dating 30 women at once.
When you really think about it, this show is outstandingly ridiculous. Why would a girl want to go on a show and fight (literally and figuratively) for the love of one guy? Not to mention that this season said guy is significantly older than most of the girls and not nearly attractive enough to be fought over by 30 gorgeous girls.
The only theory I can come up with as to why these girls who are so beautiful would need to go on "The Bachelor" to find love is that they are all batshit insane in some way shape or form. Some obviously come off crazier than others... Krystal... but there must be something fundamentally wrong with them if they look like they do and can't get a boyfriend the "old-fashioned way," or at least on Tinder or something.
Another part I can't seem to wrap my head around is why there is a 22-year-old girl on this season. I'm not quite sure why she wants to date a 36-year-old, or why he wants to date a 22-year-old... but no judgment, Bekah M.
Despite all my concerns about the show, I indeed am a huge fan. I find it more funny and entertaining than actually thinking that these two people are finding love. How can you find love in such a public eye where every 5-minute conversation you have a week with him is being videotaped?
Regardless, I actually encourage everyone to watch "The Bachelor" if your looking for a good laugh or to possibly figure out why it's so popular.
