10 Reasons Why Autumn Is The Best Season

Yes, I know it's August. But I just had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, so I am ready for fall.

Autumn or fall, whatever you call it, I love it. The weather is perfect. It's the time of the year where I get to eat all of my favorite foods, and it's just cozy. But what are the best things about fall? Here are the top ten reasons why autumn is the best season.

1. Pumpkin Spice Everything

In the fall, everything has a pumpkin spice option. From the normal coffee, lattes, cookies, and bread, to the more weirder things like cereal, coffee creamers, and even seen pumpkin spice-flavored cough drops. Pumpkin spice takes over stores and it's the most wonderful thing about autumn.

2. Crunchy Leaves

There is no better sound in nature than the sound of walking through a pile of leaves and hearing them crunch under your shoes.

3. Apple/Pumpkin Picking

This is the best autumn activity! It is a great activity for any age, whether you're with your family, a group of friends, or on a date. Picking pumpkins or apples is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

4. Cozy Sweaters

Sweaters are my favorite style of clothing. You can dress them up or wear them down, but no matter how you choose to wear one, you always look effortlessly stylish.

5. Halloween

The best holiday of the season! A time to binge-watch all of your favorite scary movies or to re-watch "Hocus Pocus" a million times. Or if you're more into the costume part, it's a great day to harness your inner witch. Oh, and don't forget the free candy.

6. Thanksgiving

The second best holiday of the season. The warmth of family all around. The smells of your Thanksgiving meals. The holiday traditions beginning to take place.

7. New TV Shows

If you're a lover of television, then you know fall brings back your favorite shows or new TV shows. It's a great break from watching reruns all summer long.

8. Back-to-School Season

Now, this might be the nerdy Education Major coming out of me, but I love back-to-school season. New notebooks, pens, and pencils. For me, there is nothing like starting a new school year.

9. Football

From watching football on the TV to attending a game, football is a staple fall activity. It's a way to bring friends and family together and to have a great weekend to get together.

10. Warm Drinks

Goodbye iced tea, hello hot beverages! On a chilly autumn night, there is nothing more enjoyable than sipping on hot coffee, tea, cocoa, or even mulled wine. It warms you from the inside out and prepares you for the winter ahead.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
