After ten months with no new music from the K-pop group ASTRO, they have finally made their comeback today with their sixth mini album, "Blue Flame".
Similar to GOT7's release of "Call My Name," "Blue Flame" was one of the albums I've been anticipating this November. Let me just premise this post by saying ASTRO's release honestly took me by surprise with how good the whole album is.
The worst part of this EP is that it's only five songs. Once I finished the last track, I was upset because I wanted to keep listening. Every track was amazing and exceeded my expectations, but I just really wanted to hear more songs from this album's concept.
Not only did ASTRO's mini album, "Blue Flame," come out this morning but so did the music video for this title track.

What I love about the song, "Blue Flame" is that it is so different from anything else ASTRO has ever released. This particular song has a reggae and laid-back groovy feel, which is new for the members of this group. In addition, it also features EDM elements that mix well with the chorus and overall feel of the song.
ASTRO took a big leap with this new sound, and it paid off. Even though I was shocked when I first listened to the song, I knew it was one of those songs that I just knew I was going to like and immediately add to my playlist.
The vocals of each member truly shine in both this song and the entire EP. In preparation for this mini album to come out, I listened to ASTRO's discography all this week. In doing so, I realized how much each member has grown in their vocal talent.
I love all six of the members of ASTRO, but for me, Eun-woo's vocals stand out the most in this EP because I can hear how much he has improved, (Eun-woo is the one singing at 0:20). I'm not at all saying that his voice was bad when the group debuted, I just think it's incredible to hear the growth he has had in his vocal range since 2016.
In addition to the amazing vocals within this song, the choreography for this song is so impressive. My favorite part is from 0:57 to 1:04. Even though they are doing simple gestures/movements, they all make it look so sharp with their synchronization. I also really like the quick cut that happens at one minute showing them in darker lighting and in different outfits from what is previously shown.
Another part of the choreo that I have to mention starts at 3:03 in the music video when Eun-woo and MJ sing "Falling, Falling". At this specific part, JinJin, Moonbin, Rocky, and Sanha all fall to the ground and show how talented they are in dancing.
Unfortunately, ASTRO hasn't performed "Blue Flame" on any live stages yet, but they did go on "Weekly Idol" and showcase their choreography. You may notice that there are only five people in this video instead of the typical six, and that's because Moonbin is on hiatus at the moment due to health issues.

I really enjoyed listening to and watching the "Blue Flame" music video, and I highly recommend that you set aside seventeen minutes to listen to the entire EP!
