At the beginning of April, Elton John released two new albums, putting the artist's discography over 50 albums. Only this time, the world-renowned "I'm Still Standing" performer was simply honored on the tracks rather than belting out his unique sound and Bernie Taupin's intimate lyrics.
The albums, "Revamp" and "Restoration" featured many of Elton John's hit songs including "Tiny Dancer" and "Rocket Man," but were sang by modern artists. Singers such as Miley Cyrus and Ed Sheeran re-mastered the classic hits with the application of their own unique styles. Hence the titles, "Revamp" and "Restoration."
With the album's immediate success and tribute to the iconic singer Sir Elton John, it's possible that music lovers would like to see albums honoring other artists, on albums reminiscent of John's revamp project.
Here are other artists who deserve a modernized revamp of their legendary and most beloved works.
1. Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson, aka the King of Pop, would be an excellent choice for a revamped album with covers from modern stars. Singers such as The Weekend, Justin Bieber, and others who have credited the "Smooth Criminal" performer as inspiration in their own music, could be featured on the album.
Best hits from Jackson to include on the restored album : "Bad," "Dirty Diana," and "Black or White."
2. The Beatles
The Beatles are one of the most iconic and best-selling music groups of all time.
With extensive accolades and a long-running list of hits, The Beatles have been covered numerous times by artists such as Katy Perry, P!nk, Adam Levine, and John Legend.
The group has had many tribute concerts in their honor but not a full-fledged revamp album like Elton John's. The album could include some of The Beatles' most famous songs such as "I am the Walrus," "Come Together," and "Blackbird."
Because of their unique style, artists from many different genres including pop, folk, and even rock, could be included on the album. Artists such as Lana Del Rey, SZA, and Rihanna could be possible contenders for a Beatles revamp.
3. Fleetwood Mac
British-American band Fleetwoood Mac formed in 1967. The group sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them another one of the best-selling groups of all time.
With legendary band members, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, as well as songs of the pop rock, blues rock, and soft rock genres, the group would be perfect for a revamp album of diverse artists and styles.
Artists such as Harry Styles who has credited Stevie Nicks as one of his leading inspirations could be included on the album. Styles has already covered "The Chain," and many stars honored the group with covers before the Grammys.
Hits to include on the album include the illustrious "Landslide," "Rihannon," and "Gold Dust Woman."
Artists with dynamic vocals and modulated voices that can fully hit lower notes, such as Lady Gaga, would be fitting for songs sang by Stevie Nicks.
