Ariana Shows Us How To Take Time For Ourselves

At the risk of taking us all back to a magical moment in 2007 ( "Leave Britney Alone!"), I'll say this: Leave. Ari. Alone. The singer/songwriter has had a rough year. She endured a toxic relationship, faced backlash for trying to balance her own health and emotional, and spiritual well being after leaving said toxic relationship. Then after her ex's tragic overdose, faced additional backlash for leaving him when he needed her most.

Before Mac Miller passed, she began her relationship with SNL's Pete Davidson and after a few months, the couple had matching tattoos. A few weeks later, they were engaged. Their relationship lasted five months and was a wild ride to watch through their Instagram stories and interviews, teacup piggy included. Over the weekend, the couple decided "now is not the time" for their relationship to take off. What gives?

The truth is there is nothing wrong with being with someone who makes you happy. However, when a relationship starts to interfere with you or your partner's happiness, it's time for a break. Ariana's relationship with Mac Miller and his struggle with sobriety was no secret. It's unfortunate that people have not stopped to think about how the loss has affected her. Ariana was not responsible for Mac Miller's happiness. She is not responsible for Pete Davidson's happiness either.....She isresponsible for her own happiness though.

Her producer filled in for her at a charity event, when she needed more time to heal post-breakup. While she is healing, she is also taking time away from social media. Before she announced her break from social media, Grande shared a post of her with green lipstick to celebrate A Very Wicked Halloween on Broadway. The caption read "Can't believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today," she said in her post. "Not today satan ! not tomorrow or the next day either not no more [. . .] finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye."

She is a strong woman who knows what she needs out of a relationship, and out of life. Although she lives her life under a microscope for our consumption, she is also aware (read: boss enough to know) she needs to be able to take time to love and care for herself.

As a young woman who struggles with depression and anxiety, it's refreshing to see self-love being shown in such a positive life. Here's to Ari, may she finally get some time to grieve and heal. Who knows, maybe she and Pete Davidson are soul mates, after all. She did write him a song after all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
