For me, apps kind of saved my life in school, and these are some that I've been using religiously throughout college. Whether for fun or academics, I'm obsessed and you should be too.

1. ALL THE GOOGLE APPS

I do not care what it is; if Google has an app for it, you can probably use it. I've used slides and docs and classroom for so many collaborative projects, too many to count really. Usually, your school email is affiliated with Google, so everything is just connected in one giant email that has so many cool features. I don't even use my phone for alarms or reminders anymore. I schedule everything on google calendars.

2. Flora

This is an app that you set a timer on, it plants a seed, and if you use your phone before the timer is up, it kisses the tree you planted. This app is so nice for getting off your phone and being productive. It helps even when you want to force yourself to just disconnect more and read a book or go for a walk.

3. GroupMe

This is a REALLY good app to have in college because you're going to have to work in groups with people and collaborate on projects. It's essential to have this so you don't have to give a bunch of people your personal phone number, and you cant set up notifications and calendars within the app to make things run more smoothly.

4. Grammarly

Grammarly edits as you type, and you can set it up on your phone and computer. This is especially helpful when typing up papers or sending out an important mail. It suggests as you right, and scans documents for additional errors as well.

5. Lyft

Depending on where you go to college, you may or may not have your car. So it's always a good idea to have these apps so you can get transportation when you need it. It's especially good for group outings so you can all split the cost of it.

6. VENMO VENMO VENMO

I promise you, the amount of times you will use this app in college is ASTOUNDING. You'll go out to eat, forget your wallet. "Oh, I'll Venmo you." You'll go to a bake sale or see students hosting a fundraiser, but you left your card in the dorm because you didn't anticipate needing it. "We accept Venmo!" they say. It's the most used app by almost everyone in my college town, and it is vital to your existence

If you have these, you should be pretty much set, or a little prepared for your first semester or two. You'll hear of more things people are using, and find other apps that help with specific classes, but these are some generic, trustworthy ones you can't go without.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
