Does Apple Care About Its Consumers?

Apple may say they are innovate, but they may just want money from loyal customers.

Let me start out by saying that I am an iPhone user myself. I am a current owner of an iPhone 6 and I love it. I love the size, although if I ever switch out my iPhone 6 for a newer model (there’s no upgrade feature anymore with AT&T), I would purchase the 6S Plus. I do not own any other Apple products because I am unable to afford them. I would never purchase an Android because I personally do not like the setup. I think iPhones have a much cleaner design and are more user-friendly, but this iPhone 7 release has me questioning Apple’s loyalty to its customers.

Apple has always been known for innovation, but they seem to be running out of ideas. Yes, the added a better camera to the iPhone 7, but so does every other phone company. Apple has not updated their design at all, looking exactly like the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus. The only other difference is that there is a “blacker” color. Wow, very innovative Apple. Also, the phone appears to be glossier than the other iPhones that came before…but this doesn’t make me want to upgrade my phone at all.

The one thing I actually like about the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is that they are now water-resistant. Now listen, they are water-resistant, not waterproof. Apple has been behind other phones because they lacked this feature. But people like to think that their new phones are waterproof. No, you cannot throw your new phone into a pool and expect it to be completely fine once you pull it out of the water. Water resistant means that your new iPhone 7 will be able to get wet to some extent. You cannot completely submerge it in water, leave it there and expect your phone to still work perfectly.

The worst part about the iPhone 7 release is that there is no headphone jack on the phone at all. Yes, Apple is including an adapter with the phone, but that adapter can easily be lost and that means that you can’t charge your phone while listening to music with headphones on, which is not very innovative if you ask me. Innovation should mean that you should be able to multitask with your phone, like listen to music and charge your phone at the same time. The only way you can do this is by purchasing Bluetooth headphones. Instead of including these in the box with your new iPhone 7, Apple is allowing you to purchase the new AirPods for a whopping one-hundred fifty-nine dollars. Two little pieces of wireless plastic will cost you one-hundred fifty-nine dollars To me, that’s a little ridiculous.

Now, iPhone users will not be able to use an aux cord unless they have their adapter (which I know will easily get lost). Also, the AirPods to me have a very unattractive design. The design makes it seem like the AirPods can easily fall out of your ears while working out. If you are going to create wireless headphones, they should not look like the old iPhone headphones without the cord. Now these two pieces of plastic will hang out of your ears and to me, that is not a very good look. They should have created earbuds that just go in your ear and are hardly visible (that have a similar design to earplugs).

To me, Apple is pretending to be creative and innovative to a lot of brainwashed consumers. Of course, some people think that the iPhone 7 is great and want to purchase it because it will benefit their daily lives more than their current phone. You can buy an iPhone for over six-hundred dollars (for the smallest amount of gigabytes) and are you really getting a better phone for all the money you’re going to spend? Apple is charging hundreds of dollars for a phone that is hardly better than its predecessors are and may even be worse in some ways. Apple knows that some fans are extremely loyal and will purchase the phone no matter what, just so they have the newest product around. Apple knows they can get their customers to spend hundreds of dollars. Are these unattractive AirPods really worth one-hundred fifty-nine dollars? Not to me. Is the iPhone worth more than six-hundred dollars? Not really.

I think Apple is beginning to run out of ideas when it comes to creating new and innovative phones. If I were to purchase a new phone, I would rather get the iPhone 6S than the new iPhone 7. Even once the price of the iPhone 7 goes down, I would never consider purchasing it. I will always be a loyal iPhone user to an extent, but I would like to keep my headphone jack.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
