To Those Who Are Anti-Semitic, We Will Fight Back By Making The World A Better Place

We are strong and united.

I saw a post on Facebook that was scary. They were comparing a Jewish shop in France to a shop in Germany during the Holocaust. That made me cry on the inside. Why do you have a strong hate towards people you don't personally know? Even if you do know a Jew who has upset you, not every Jew is the same. You see, Jews are diverse and different which makes Judaism so beautiful. We don't pressure our people to act, think, or talk a certain way.

Obviously, we have laws that touch all the things I previously mentioned, but they aren't restrictions. They help us become better people - why is it right to talk bad about someone we don't even know? I gossip, and I'm trying not to, but isn't it good to have respect for people by how we talk and what we say? As for thinking, we are free to ask questions. In fact, many Rabbis get concerned when someone isn't arguing or questioning a law by the Torah which is our version of the Bible, Quran, and any other religious text.

We aren't out to create a Jewish super-race because we don't want the biggest religion in the world. It would be nice to have more Jews but only Jews that want to convert for the right reasons. Converting to Judaism is not easy — being a Jew is not easy. However, with all the hard moments come the moments of bliss. Talking during a Friday night Shabbat meal, finishing a fast, ending Shabbos with Havdallah, doing things for a purpose. Yes, there are extremists in Judaism, but there are extremists in every religion.

G-d loves you and only does things for the greater good. That doesn't make tragedies okay because even the wisest Rabbi doesn't know the true intentions of having shootings, genocides, famine, and more. It boggles my mind that Jews have been around since the beginning of time yet despite not doing anything bad, we are still picked on. It is scary when a man wants all Jews to die, but I'm not going to be afraid. I will embrace my religion with pride; sometimes in subtle ways, other times in bold ways. To all my Jews reading, please don't be afraid to come out as being a Jew. Please try to spread kindness.

Best.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
