(1) The retention of the terminal in the sheath is unqualified

The retention of the terminal in the sheath refers to the force required to separate the terminal from the sheath in the axial direction. In order to avoid the phenomenon of terminal withdrawal, the performance test standard of the connector sets strict regulations on the retention force of the terminal in the sheath: ①The retention of the connector with a specification not greater than 2.8 is greater than 40N; ②The retention of connector with a specification greater than 2.8 is greater than 60N. In practice, most of the phenomenon of terminal withdrawal is because the retention does not meet the requirements. Generally speaking, the reasons for the unqualified retention of the terminal in the sheath are: structural design problems; material selection problems.

(2) Interference in terminal of plug-in connectors

Interference in terminal of plug-in connectors means that the male terminal and the female terminal of the connector are inserted into the ineffective area of the female terminal during the mating process, so that the connector has a failure form such as terminal withdrawal. Generally speaking, the reasons for this are: ①Structural design problem; ②Terminal insertion force problem.

(3) Product application

The product application related to the return of connector terminals mainly refer to the problem that may cause the withdrawal of the terminals during the wiring harness production process. Generally include terminal crimping problems and terminal assembly problems. It is mainly caused by improper use method during product use.
