"All Too Well": A Taylor Swift Masterpiece
Taylor Swift

Everybody seems to have an opinion on Taylor Swift. She dates too much, she sings off key, she's super sweet, she's practically perfect. Honestly, I've always enjoyed Taylor's music and specifically her lyrical talent for writing ballads. 1989 was fun, sure, but her self-titled album has so many good stories wrapped up in songs. However, "All Too Well," is actually on her fourth studio album, Red. And lemme tell you, it's top notch. Nearly every girl ages 15-35 will tell you it's one of their favorites, but why? The poetic imagery, the gutsy rawness, the personal yet relatable storyline...

1. "Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place"

What a line! Falling in love in the fall is romantic in and of itself, but what a way to put it. You can envision exactly how she's feeling -- light, weightless, and content with the way this particular season in her life is going.

2. "You tell me 'bout your past thinking your future was me"

Holy smokes, Taylor! You hit the nail right on the head. When you begin to get serious about someone and go home to meet their family, this is exactly how it feels. It's like take a trip back in time, looking at photo albums and listening to reminiscent stories of childhood, all leading up to a grand "what if."

3. "Dancing 'round the kitchen in the refrigerator light"

There's something true about dancing in the kitchen. Nobody knows what it is, but it's very intimate, and the way Taylor describes the minimal light from the fridge as the only light source makes it even more romantic.

4. "So casually cruel in the name of being honest"

We've all been here. Ya know, the whole "it's not you, it's me" spiel and the "I never wanted to hurt you." Very casual, filler break up stuff. But allegedly truthful. Yeah, ok...

5. "But you keep my old scarf from that very first week, 'cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me"

Not only does she reach for sensory details, but for abstract thought. This song is so incredibly woven with care. It strings together fond memories and real feelings seamlessly, which is why we all love it so much.

Anyway. Just gonna leave this here.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
