A playlist is needed for every mood.

All of the inevitable playlists you make on Spotify

We all enjoy music. For most, I think it's safe to say we listen to our music choices on Spotify. Every song we could ever want to hear is right at our fingertips on the music streaming service app. Whatever emotions I'm feeling, there is always a song or album that perfectly sums up my mood on Spotify. So I make playlists for whatever mood I'm in or for whatever activity I'm doing. Here are some of the playlists we can all admit to making.

1. Workout Playlist

Whether it's Drake, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Thomas Rhett, I always put faster music on this playlist that will get me prepared to sweat on the treadmill. I mean, who doesn't want to start running fast when they hear "By The Way" by RHCP?

2. Breakup Playlist

Okay we have all had them - breakups. Whether you've known them for a month or ten years, it's hard to say goodbye to a relationship with someone you really loved. I think we can all agree that the answer to any breakup is Adele. Listen to "Someone Like You" if you really want a good cry.

3. Driving Playlist

If I'm driving with friends or even alone for long periods of time, I like to have a playlist ready to go with a little bit of everything. Include music from a new star like Maren Morris, some classic Backstreet Boys hits as well as that rap song by Eminem that you know every word to.

4. Cleaning Playlist

I hate doing a lot of the chores around my house but they are made more enjoyable whenever I have music playing in the background. I usually add music that will pump me up and make me want to work faster. A staple for me is "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. I still haven't mastered all of the lyrics but I get better each time I attempt to sing along to it.

5. Mellow Playlist

We have all had the feeling of just wanting to relax with a good book or wanting to sit outside in the sunshine on a early fall day. For times like these, I include mellow, calm music by the likes of Coldplay, Band of Horses, City and Colour, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bon Iver and my favorite, Jason Mraz.

6. Dance Playlist

There are few things more enjoyable then preparing for a night out with friends. For my best friends and I, we love to dance around to some fierce female pop stars like Rihanna, Britney Spears and Katy Perry to get in the mood as we do our hair and makeup.

7. Holiday Playlist

For whatever holiday it may be, there is always music that we can associate with that time of year. A personal favorite of mine is the Christmas tunes that start to arrive on the radio as the holidays approach. Michael Bublé, James Taylor and Frank Sinatra are some of the classics played in my house during the winter months.

8. Genre Playlists

Sometimes I want to listen to only rap and hip hop, other times I crave good, new pop music. A sure bet for me is country music so I always have a playlist ready with Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
