- “Quit saying you’ll do it later. Do it now.”- Katherine Waters, Senior.
- “I would say that while some people need a while before declaring their major, that is not the case for everyone. I wish I had declared the second I knew instead of hesitating and being afraid of making a mistake. Go for what your passion is.”- Chris Paschal, Senior.
- “Get help sooner rather than later.”- Kate Gibson, Senior.
- “Go to bed early, get in a routine, and get involved with as much as you can”- Madison Jones, Senior.
- “To make the most of your experience at Wofford. I would say to go to more events and be more involved in clubs even if I think I won’t enjoy them. I would encourage myself to take calculated risks, especially in social situations, and to not let me shyness hold me back.”- Peggy Payne
- “Use your skips.” Martha Scott Alford
- “Don’t dry your nice shirts in the Marsh dryers or they will shrink and you will be upset. Group dinners are a great study break and they are lots of fun! Prioritize your health (good sleep and lots of water!) so that you don’t have to go to nurse Tami all the time- even though she is so nice!”- Mary McDonald, Senior
- “Don't count someone out as a friend just because they don't have everything together freshman year. More than likely, everyone is going to change from freshman year. So keep an open mind to who you may not be friends with at the beginning. You never know, the crazy, party girl next door may be your best friend come senior year.”- Shannon Dwyer, Senior.
- “Don’t be upset when you don’t get the grade you want in a class that doesn’t even go with your major.”- Paxton Stewart
- “Investing in people is so important because there is a lot more change in these four years than you realize. Without those people, it’s easy to get lost.”- Patrick Longest
Freshman. Your time in college goes by so fast. Cherish every moment that you have here, because it goes by in the blink of an eye. Another piece of advice is this: loveeveryone. You’re going to encounter so much in your college career, but being open to other people is something that will carry you so far. Also, have fun. Go to the football games. Go to cookout at 1am with your best friend. Sit with someone who looks like they may need a friend. Work out to make yourself feel better. Have fun with the small amount of time you have here, because before you know it, you will be in our place, wanting to give the same advice to the classes below you. Best of luck, class of 2020. Enjoy it.
