Do you ever crave adventure? The type of adventure that has no service, leads up to a breathtaking viewpoint and offers new experiences for all people involved. Imagine you are zip lining through a jungle in Costa Rica, gazing at the Northern Lights, walking the beaches of Santorini, hiking through Yosemite or snorkeling clear waters in Belize. These are classic examples of adventure spots that came to my mind. An adventure that instills a little bit of fear but a whole lot of anticipation and excitement.
I know I crave this type of adventure all the time. Adventure sets your soul free and allows your imagination to wander. It creates a sense of peace and contentment. It lets your mind run wild and fills your heart with gratitude and joy. It leaves you feeling full of life and rejuvenated. I believe this feeling is unlike any other feeling and cannot be replaced. It is by the adventure that the heart is fulfilled by this thrill.
This desire to get away and get lost in nature is rooted in my love for this beautiful earth that we have the privilege of experiencing. I think this desire to explore and see more of what this earth has to offer comes from the previous experiences I have had. The more that I see on this earth, the more that I desire to keep pursuing. It is a never-ending quest to experience. The craving will never end and that’s the beauty of the adventure. A passion that is limitless. A person that adventures will never stop.
Adventurous people are hooked on the excitement and make it a part of their life. It keeps them coming back and craving for more. I do believe this craving to be a healthy one because it satisfies the desire to be one with nature and appreciate this great gift that we have been given.
I’ve had a list of places that I want to visit for quite some time now. This list quickly compiles in my brain and soon becomes a “bucket list” of trips to make. It continues to grow over time and soon becomes attached with pictures and map descriptions. This list of places is filled with local spots as well as international destinations.
For now, I have made it a goal to visit the places that are most accessible for this time of my life and then to move forward with greater adventures later in my life. It has always been a dream of mine to travel and explore for a living. Even far enough, that I would like to travel alongside a National Geographic photographer. Certainly, this is a wild dream, I am not quite sure if it is possible, but I hope to make it happen in my lifetime.
Adventure is out there and it’s for the taking. Whether that means hiking a trail nearby your town, driving to a national park in your state, road tripping across many states to see sites or flying across the globe to experience one of the seven natural wonders of the world, it is an adventure. These experiences are connected to a lifetime of exploration. It may take many paychecks or saved up coin-jars to make these adventures possible, but it will be worth every effort contributed.
Adventure can also mean grabbing a backpack, a water bottle, and some friends to create a journey of your own. The adventure will gift you with stories to share, pictures to print, a longing to keep exploring and a deep appreciation for this wonderful planet! Life is either a great adventure or nothing at all.
