Blemishes are not fun. Especially when you're a 20-something-year-old trying to adult in the real world. The last thing you need is a massive bloomer on your face that thinks it's here to stay for the long run. It's time to break up with your blemishes with these 5 tips to treat your aggravating acne:

1. Apple cider vinegar

Apply apple cider vinegar to that pesky pimple that seems to be growing like an uncontrollable tumor. Apple cider vinegar allows the zit to flatten and become less noticeable because it is packed with potassium, magnesium, acetic acid, and various enzymes that kill bacteria on the skin.

2. Aloe

If you think about it, aloe is a natural healer for the skin, so it would also be beneficial to blemishes and even prevent scarring. I suggest getting yourself an aloe plant to get it straight from the source.

3. Moisturizers

Moisturizing is so important with acne. Especially if you are already treating it with creams and washes that are drying out your face. Think about it, when your skin becomes too dry, your body makes more oil. That's the last thing you want. More oil, more acne. The extra oil can clog pores and create more acne. This then takes you back to square one with your acne problem. Find a moisturizer that is oil free and won't clog your pores. I use CeraVe A.M. and CeraVe P.M. to moisturize my face, and it gives me the perfect balance.

4. Sip the H2O

Water is extremely vital to our health. Drink more of it to clear up your skin. After all, our skin is the largest organ of our bodies. Water carries nutrients and vitamins as well as removes toxins from our bodies. It is suggested that we drink eight cups of water a day which is easier said than done. I suggest adding lemon, cucumber, or orange to freshen it up. Also, place it next to your coffee so you go straight to water after finishing your morning cup of java!

5. Pin it

Yes, this can be intrusive to your skin. Yet, the pin causes far less damage to your skin in comparison to you actually attempting to pop your pimple. You would knick the surface of your pimple to relieve some pressure and immediately apply a cream or home remedy to help with the healing process.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
