My Experience With Cheap Eyelash Extentions

My lash line is a thin one and putting on falsies every single day is tedious. "What's the next best option?" I thought, eyelash extensions.

Now, I did not want to pay seventy-100 dollars on eyelash extensions the very first time- although looking back on it, I think I should have. I looked up a little salon at the mall that does facial hair threading and added a new thing to their menu- eyelash extensions. Only twenty dollars?! Of course, I had to try it!

So I walk in the salon and ask for the eyelash extensions. I sat down in the chair and they taped my bottom eyelashes down, they got a little close to my eye which was uncomfortable but that is to be expected, as people usually do not get that close to my eye. Then one by one these delicate eyelashes were glued on. Once it was okay to open my eye, it was glued almost completely shut and burned a little more than regular eyelash glue. It took about thirty minutes for each eye and it looked awesome! I was so excited to go out and flaunt my new look.

I was promised that these lashes would last up to two weeks if I took care of them, so I did exactly that. I didn't get them wet for forty-eight hours, didn't rub my eyes, and I was good to go! The funny thing about this method though, is that the glue seemingly got harder and, dare I say, crustier as each day passed. It made my eyes extremely itchy and there wasn't anything I could do about it. It felt as though the glue was flaking off into my eye. I wanted to rub them to relieve the itch, but that would mean the lashes would fall off sooner. So, I did the next best thing, blinked rapidly, and pulled the outer corner of my eyes, like you do when you're tired. They lasted for about a week and then, they started falling out. There was plenty, so it was hardly noticeable and I wasn't too worried about it. That is until I only had half of an eyelash line.

Having only half of a lid of full eyelashes looked as though I just woke up from a ten-hour sleep. I tried pulling them off but it turns out, the remaining glue was way sturdier than the glue on the ones that fell out. So I went in and did it again; same technique, different stylist. This time, within a day, these eyelashes began falling off. I was distraught but I still loved them and took as much care of them as I could. Even though this set lasted longer than the last, it still didn't make the two-week mark. Although, I must say, rubbing your eyes after not being able to for a few weeks is an incredible feeling. It's like when you have your hair up for too long and you take it down and then you can scratch all you want. I have not yet gone back to get them done, but when I do, I am willing to pay seventy dollars just to rock the look for even a week longer.

Different salons may have different methods as to how they put on eyelash extensions, which would explain the longevity. I think the gluing method is good to do for a special event but probably not for everyday wear. I'm not sure what other methods are used, but as far as pain goes, this method was not that bad. It will only hurt if the glue gets inside of your eye, but it only hurts for a minute.

If you're thinking of getting eyelash extensions, I would definitely try the cheaper option first, just to see if you like it. That way, you don't like it, it's not a big deal, and if you do like it, then you can explore as many options as you want! Even the smallest makeovers can be the biggest confidence boost!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
