D- Drive-In Movies- Nothing like sitting in the back of your car enjoying a movie in a big parking lot

E- Eating- Fruits are at their ripest in the summer, and fish is the most fresh, making it a great time to truly indulge in special treats

F- Fourth of July- The summers biggest holiday, lots of fun with fireworks and patriotism

G- Green grass- The green color of grass and trees makes this time of year extra bright

H- Hiking- The nice weather and blooming landscapes make it a perfect time of year to get out for a hike

I- Ice Cream- A novelty treat essential to summer

J- Jobs- A great time to find a low stress job to earn some extra cash

K- Kayaking- Peacefully traveling down a river

L- Lakes- One of the many types of water bodies that you can enjoy summer by

M- Music- As the season changes, so does the type of music you're listening to

N- Night sky- Stars fill the sky

O- Ocean- Summer is best on the coast by the ocean

P- Pools- A fun alternative to the ocean

Q- Quiet time- As active as you can be in the summer, it's also time for quiet relaxation

R- Road trips- With family or friends, a great way to see new places

S- Sunsets- Preferably over the ocean

T- Tan- Skin becomes browner the longer you spend in the sun

U- UV rays- Hot sun beating down on you

V- Vacation- Great weather calls for a getaway

W- Water- All different forms of water help to keep cool in the hot summer

X- eXplore- A great time to get out and learn more about your outdoor surroundings

Y- Yoga- Although this can be practiced all year long, summer yoga can be done on the beach, or even in the water making a whole new experience

Z- Zoo- A fun summer activity without having to go in the water

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
