The past few years, I have always made a cheesy, try-hard VSCO bucket list of things to do with my friends and family before the year ends. It started in 2018 as junior year, aka hell, was coming to a close and the light at the end of the tunnel was approaching. This bucket list was full of color, as I was ready to throw out ACT prep books and replace them with road trips, baking competitions, and car karaoke. The next bucket list was all the things to be done before my best friends and I split up across the country for college. This list formed the rubric of what turned out to be some of the best memories I've ever made. Lollapalooza, senior spring break in Punta Cana, ear piercings, and ice cream binges.

This next bucket list is a snippet into getting my life back on track after quarantine, and restoring my desire for adventure.

See a psychic

About a year ago, I had my cards read by a psychic at a friend's grad party. In the ten minutes I spent with her, she told me all about how someone in my life was about to become very important to me. Little did I know, that someone would turn into my now boyfriend of almost a year. This session sparked my interest into getting my cards read seriously.

Get tan

This may seem unimportant to many, but as someone who lives in Michigan and was supposed to spend all of spring at school tanning in California, I feel robbed of returning back home to "summer" with a tan meant to make my friends jealous.

Rage Room

Ever have the urge to just break something? This place is for you. After getting fully dressed in protective coverings, you are able to go in a room with some friends and destroy anything, anyhow. This will definetly be needed to get my anger out after being stuck in my room for quarantine.

Go to a field of flowers

I've seen so many videos where people are driving and spot a huge field of the most beautiful flowers where you can walk and take in their beauty and take some amazing pictures along with it.

Watch the sunrise

If quarantine has taught me anything, it's that I am definetly NOT a morning person. However, I live in Michigan, which has some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets, which are only made better by the myriad of lakes. Getting up early to watch the sun rise over the lake would be the perfect dose of serotonin needed to boost my appreciation for life, even when it throws you curveballs.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
