"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" -Lao Tzu
Everything in life takes effort
And honestly, it's daunting. Sometimes I feel that people allow themselves to fall victim to fear when encountering a new challenge or new obstacle, is because they see whatever they see in front of them as simply just too big. Imagine yourselves walking along the coast, feeling the grains of sand sink with each step, as the seagulls fly overhead and follow you as you grow closer to where the ocean, earth's biggest source of water-rock back and forth and give rise to the ever-growing tides. Showing you nature's power, as it stretches towards the horizon. It can be intimidating to go against the ocean, and that's how I feel sometimes. Perhaps others feel this whenever they start a new job, a new school, maintaining a new relationship. But sometimes life's obstacles can be bigger than you, so all we can do is stare at it and just shout out into the sky as we take the first steps onto our journeys.
Anyways Hey all you lovely people,
And welcome to the first online literary work by your truly Brian Dolores. I honestly have no real idea how this will go but sometimes you have to go for it right? Currently, I'm nineteen years old, I go to college at Stockton University in New Jersey. I'm a brother of Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity inc. I work, study, workout. So I got a lot going on in life, and I thought why not add writing to the schedule? The purpose behind this little venture is to finally have an outlet to share what I am going through, What others are going through, and to share any story from my past. Topics I will be covering will range from poems I've written in the past, stories of my mental health struggles, short works of fiction/non-fiction, generally whatever I feel like writing because why not?
Because this is me shouting into space.
Life is stressful, tough, confusing, but it's also what we make of it. I know I am guilty of losing myself in what I like to call the darkness and that's why we have each other. I like to give huge credit to my close friends and family for being there and giving me the support I need. Anyway, I hope my work will get out there and possibly spread some smiles, provide some help to those who need it, or just give you something to pass the time. And to whoever reads this I wish you the best of luck and hope whatever your about to begin that you meet success, and to those struggling you're not alone.
