NBC

It has been 10 years since the last episode. Phoebe and her husband, Mike, divorced a year later. Monica and Chandler's kids are now 10 years old, and Rachel and Ross have been married for eight years and have four kids: Emma, Ben, Monica, and Joey.

Everyone is in their forties. Phoebe and Joey have been "single" all these years, but secretly seeing each other on occasion. Within the past 10 years, they got married. This is what happens when the gang finds out.

Scene 1: Joey and Phoebe are cuddling in Joey's apartment and they kiss. Chandler walks in on them kissing.

CHANDLER: Hey guys! Woah... um, sorry...

Phoebe and Joey are startled and jump up.

PHOEBE: It's not what it looks like.

CHANDLER: Oh, really? Because it looks like you guys were just MAKING OUT.

PHOEBE: Oh yeah, then it's exactly what it looks like.

JOEY: Please don't tell anyone, Chandler. I'll buy you a Playboy Magazine.

CHANDLER: I'm MARRIED.

JOEY: So? Are you going to tell anyone?

CHANDLER: WAIT. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

PHOEBE: Well, when we were 30, Joey and I decided that if neither one of us were married when we were 40, then we'd marry each other and…

JOEY: Well… we're both in our forties now, and we were both really tired of waiting around for the perfect someone.

PHOEBE: So, while we were waiting, we were seeing each other secretly.

JOEY: ...on and off!

CHANDLER: Wait, for how long?

JOEY: Just a little while…

Chandler gives Joey a "Really?" look.

JOEY: Okay, fine… since Ross and Rachel's wedding day.

CHANDLER: FOR EIGHT YEARS? Why have you guys been keeping this a secret? This is great!

PHOEBE AND JOEY: It is?

CHANDLER: Yes, it is! I think we were all rooting for this to happen!

PHOEBE: Oh, wow! That's a relief!

CHANDLER: Why's that?

Phoebe and Joey exchange looks.

JOEY: Because we're kind of getting married.

CHANDLER: WHAT? You guys have been seeing each other secretly for the past eight years, and you guys are just going to spring it on us that you guys are getting married?

JOEY: ON AND OFF! We've been seeing each other ON AND OFF.

PHOEBE: Well, you and Monica were seeing each other for a year and kept it a secret from everyone... except Joey.

JOEY: I covered for you guys for A YEAR. At least you didn't know so you didn't have to keep a secret for me. So, you're welcome.

CHANDLER: Thanks? But you guys have been seeing each other for EIGHT YEARS? How are you guys just deciding to get married now? That's so long!

PHOEBE: Well… you see…we kind of actually are already married...

CHANDLER: Oh my God. For how long?

PHOEBE: Six years.

CHANDLER: WHAT? Wow. What about that guy, John, that you dated last year? What's this? An open marriage?

PHOEBE: Well, we fake dated.

CHANDLER: Then how were you guys seeing each other "on and off"?

JOEY: Well, it was only "off" when we were on fake dates.

CHANDLER: What about that chick you scored last week?

PHOEBE: Oh, that was me!

CHANDLER: Oh, my GOD. Were you guys planning on telling us?

PHOEBE: Yeah, when we got caught.

CHANDLER: What if we never caught you? Then when were you going to tell us?

JOEY: Never.

CHANDLER: Wow, you need to tell everyone else. It's not fair that you keep this a secret from everyone.

JOEY: If you don't tell anyone, I'll buy you a Playboy!

CHANDLER: Like I said, I am MARRIED. Monica would NOT like it if I had one.

JOEY: Who said you have to tell her if I got you one?

CHANDLER: You're right… NO. Then I'd be keeping two secrets from her. I'm not doing that. You need to tell everyone or I will.

Chandler leaves.

JOEY: What are we going to do?

PHOEBE: Well, it's probably better if everyone finds out from us.

JOEY: You're right.

Scene 2: The whole gang is gathered in Monica and Chandler's living room. They're all sitting on the couch, and Phoebe and Joey are standing in front of everyone.

PHOEBE: Guys, we have something to say.

RACHEL: What is it?

PHOEBE: Well, there's really no easy way to say this, but you guys are going to have to stay quiet so we can explain everything.

MONICA: You're scaring me. What's up, guys?

PHOEBE: Okay, so you guys know how Monica and Chandler hooked up at Ross and Emily's wedding?

JOEY: And how you guys are still a GREAT couple even after ALL these years?

PHOEBE: AND they kept it a secret for so long?

JOEY: Well, we kind of did the same thing Monica and Chandler did.

RACHEL: OH! At whose wedding?

PHOEBE: You and Ross.

MONICA: YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN DATING FOR EIGHT YEARS?

PHOEBE: Actually, we dated for two, and were married for six.

ROSS: WHAT? You guys have been married for SIX YEARS? What were you guys thinking?

CHANDLER: WHAT? I had NOOOO idea.

JOEY: Well, we were thinking that if you and Rachel could get married after you cheating on her, then we can, too.

ROSS: WE WERE ON A BREAK.

PHOEBE: Yeah, okay. Sure. Anyway, are you guys mad?

MONICA: No, I guess not. At least you're telling us now.

JOEY: Yeah, that's what we were thinking.

RACHEL: I am a little upset that we didn't get to celebrate it with you guys. Maybe we can throw you guys a party!

CHANDLER: THIS ISN'T FAIR. I CAUGHT THEM MAKING OUT AND TOLD THEM TO TELL YOU GUYS. THEY LIED FOR YEARS AND THEY GET A PARTY?

MONICA: You knew? And you didn't tell me?

CHANDLER: No…

Everyone is forgiven and the gang winds up throwing Phoebe and Joey a party to celebrate their marriage. They spend the rest of their lives together and everyone is happy.

THE END.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
