A College Girls Packing List.

This is my go-to packing list for when I head down south to New Orleans, LA. This list will hopefully, assist you in not forgetting anything and having to run to the store during your fun stay in NOLA.

Clothes

This is the section you plan out how many days you are going to be there and the weather with each one. Then you can make subsections with every article of clothing you need for that day.

For Example

Friday Night (High: 72 Low: 63)

Jeans, Black Shirt, Army Jacket

Then you continue to do every day like this including your ride home outfit.

Accessories

This section is so you can remember all the jewelry you need. I like to usually do this with the sections above so I can organize my outfits and not forget the jewelry I wanted to go with it.

Delicates

All the ladies know what I am talking about in this section. I usually pack two bras to go with the outfits planned and then times the days I am staying by two and bring that many undies, never know what could happen in NOLA.

Toiletries

I will make a list for this section because this is the easiest section for me to forget something in.

Shampoo / Conditioner

Body and Face Wash (then a subsection for all skincare items) Do NOT forget your makeup remover wipes

Toothbrush / Toothpaste

Perfume (gotta smell good)

Chapstick

Self-Tanner (if you use it)

Deodorant

Hairspray, Bobby Pins, Ponytail Holders, Tease Comb, Heat Tools

Makeup

Feminine Care Goodies

School

Lol, I had to make this, because....college. So, make sure you bring your laptop, IPad, or any homework that might be due the following week or the time you are there. We college students love to have fun, but hate to get behind. Also, this can just be a precautionary item, due to you might forget an assignment and you can complete it on the spot.

DISCLAIMER: NOLA is a pretty crime-riddled area, so I suggest not leaving anything valuable in your car and hiding it in your hotel room.

Cooler

This is essential if you are road tripping. Make sure you bring all the snacks and drinks you need for the ride down there or even in the room.

Games + Car Ride Essentials

Make sure you do not forget any games you can play on the road trip or in the room at night. Also, DO NOT forget your pillow, blanket, and car charger!

Purse

List of things you put in your purse.

Wallet

Headache Meds

Gum / Mints

Lotion

Germ X

Portable Charger

I hope this helps. HAVE FUN and BE SAFE.

XOXO,

BP

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
