If you're anything like me, you probably spend a lot of money on things you don't actually need. For me, one of my weaknesses is buying various notebooks. Not just one, two, or a few, but many notebooks. I mean, they always have the cutest designs on them, and something about having a blank canvas (or lots of blank canvases) to just fill is so intriguing and exciting to me. Call me a nerd, I call myself a writer. Here's a plethora of ideas for you to unleash your creativity and fill those notebooks.
1. Plan an event.
Plan your wedding, plan your little brother's birthday party, plan whatever you want. Even if it's not in the near future, it never hurts to start laying out ideas!
2. Keep a food journal.
Your health is everything. Start jotting down what you're eating every day. You'll learn a lot about yourself and your true eating habits.
3. Use it for prayer.
One way to work on and even kickstart your spiritual journey is to write about it: put your religion into words. Copy down prayers, hymns, meditations or anything.
4. Make it a gratitude journal.
Sometimes as humans, we forget all that we have to be thankful for. Each day, write down what you're most thankful for that day. Count your blessings.
5. Travel journal.
I don't know about you, but I want to see the world. Jot down each of the places in the world that you want to go, and maybe even a little bit about each of those places.
6. Write letters to your people.
Nothing makes someone smile more than a personalized letter or note. Even if you don't intend on sending the letter, it's relieving and heart-warming to spill out your heart on paper to those you love.
7. Make a list of 100.
This one has endless possibilities. Your list of 100 can virtually be about anything. For example, "Top 100 Episodes of Friends," or "100 Hilarious Michael Scott Quotes." Anything!
8. Memory Log
We all have great days, and we all also have not-so great days. Tracking your favorite memories in a notebook is great to have, and also comforting to read on those not-so great days.
9. Simply journal.
Do it the old-fashioned way and actually write about your day each and every day. Write about the things that happened, the things said, how you felt, everything. I promise you'll never feel more in touch with yourself.
The ideas are limitless, and so is your creative mind.
