Most people are obsessed with dogs and completely love them. However, I do not feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, I do love running into dogs on the sidewalk and getting to pet them, however, I prefer cats and am much more excited to meet a new one. Maybe it is because I grew up with cats or maybe because of my personality, but whatever the reason, I believe cats are better and here is why.

1. They don't bark

There is nothing more annoying than a dog that won't stop barking. Whether it is a dog you meet walking down the streets or one barking the night away, the noise is extremely annoying. Cats on the other hand occasionally meow, but only when necessary. More importantly, they purr- which is the cutest noise in the world.

2. They are confident

They know they are the greatest animal to walk this planet, and they are not afraid to show it. They strut with such great confidence, as they should.

3. They were worshipped

Clearly, we can learn from the Egyptians. They worshipped cats, and I believe they were onto something. Honestly, I think we should go back to worshipping them too.

4. They are cute

I mean come on, think about Puss in Boots. He is absolutely adorable, and so are cats in general. They are furry, and many of them like to cuddle up with you. They are extra cute when you wrap them up like a little burrito and hold them in your arms.

5. They are content with being left alone

Cats don't need you to give them constant attention like dogs do. They are completely fine with being left home alone to wander the house. They will also leave you alone when you are busy. Yes, they may walk across your keyboard, but if you really need to be left alone you can push them away and they will leave, unlike dogs who keep coming back to bother you.

6. They are sassy

They can give you such an attitude. You can see it in their eyes and in their strut. I have a sassy personality, so I love having an animal that mirrors it.

7. They are easily entertained

You don't need fancy toys and squeaky balls to entertain cats. Cats are content playing with hair ties and sitting in boxes. In fact, it is best not to buy cats toys because they probably won't play with them.

8. Catnip

Sprinkle some on a toy or even on the floor for your cat, and just sit back and watch as they go crazy. It's just super fun watching them roll around on the floor.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
