Face it, those fictional characters are hard to resist. Even if they're not real. Although, mentally dating is a lot easier than actual dating, so at least there's an upside. For myself, there have been a number of fictional characters that have captured my heart, but these are a few of my particular favorites.

1. Haruka Nanase from "Free!"

Those eyes, though... But seriously, how can you not love Haru? He's a cinnamon roll, and relatable. We're both quiet, and his passion for the water and swimming reminds me of myself when I was younger. Plus, despite his emotionless exterior, he cares deeply for his friends and loved ones.

2. Newt Scamander from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"

Newt is adorable. Come on, look at that face! Don't you want to just give him a hug? Plus, he cares deeply for his creatures and is set on convincing people that they're not dangerous. Who wouldn't want a man who's passionate about what he does? And he IS a wizard, and magic is definitely a bonus

3. Enjolras from "Les Miserables"

Those of you into Broadway, or have at least seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. Look at him! I mean, even Victor Hugo himself said he was "angelically beautiful". And leading a revolution? (That fails, but still...) He's obviously not afraid to stand up what he believes in, and see above for my feelings on passionate men.

4. Phoenix Wright from the Ace Attorney series

He's an amazing lawyer, and he's also one of the biggest dorks on the planet. He's also not shy about being sarcastic, especially with Maya or any odd witnesses around. Plus, the main reason he wanted to be a lawyer in the first place was to help those who have no one on their side. Aww...

5. The Tenth Doctor from "Doctor Who"

Again, adorkable. And if you've seen season 2, you know how much he cares about Rose. Wouldn't you want someone to feel that way about you? Plus, you know, he does kind of go on exciting adventures through time and space in his TARDIS... Worldly, erm, "other-worldly" men who will take you on an adventure? Yes!

6. L from "Death Note"

Yeah, unusual choice. Yeah, he's not conventionally attractive, but hey, the above might not be by today's standards either. He's the greatest detective in the world, so obviously highly intelligent and proud of his job. Sure, he may be a little weird, but hey, I'm weird, so it's not an issue to me. Plus, he loves sweets! Wouldn't you want to hang out and eat cake with him?

7. Kyoya Ootori from "Ouran High School Host Club"

One word: Glasses. OK, but seriously, this guy almost single-handedly runs the Host Club, and aside from Haruhi, acts as a voice of reason to the otherwise lively group, yet still just as charming. You can't help but feel sorry for him in the later episodes. The poor guy just wants to prove himself worthy of running the family business and get an ounce of respect from his family.

8. Tadashi Hamada from "Big Hero 6"

I have to bring him up due to him being my Facebook cover photo for a time, and my still refusing to accept he's dead. Come on, he didn't deserve to die! He loves his brother very much despite his antics. He's passionate about engineering, and he created Baymax, the adorable marshmallow nurse bot that wants to heal everyone!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
