Uber is great. Yes, we were told to never trust people on the internet and to never get into the car of a stranger, but its accessibility makes people’s lives much easier. It is the main source of transportation used by University students who do not have cars. We could obviously use the public bus or call a taxi cab, but who would want to do that when we can contact someone to pick us up at our fingertips?
1. "Hi, how are you?" - "Good, thank you. How are you?"
2. "So, where are you from?"
3. "Why would you leave home for here?"
4. "I have never been there, but I have been to __________"
5. "Freshman, sophomore, junior, senior?
6. "What are you studying?"
At one point, I told my Uber driver I was a Health Administration and Policy (HAP) student. He said that he also majored in HAP during undergrad. He then replied, “If I were you, I would not major in HAP. Look at where I am now. I’m just an Uber driver who has thousands of dollars of debt.”
