It doesn't matter what music you prefer to listen to, whether it's R&B, Pop, Country, Rock, Rap, Techno, if you don't listen to more than one genre of music, you are truly missing out. Limiting yourself to one genre of music is like only allowing yourself to eat one food group. Yeah, eating only vegetables sounds great, but by skipping out on those other food groups you are just depriving your mind and your body. Same goes for music. Feed your mind and body with these bands and artists you need in your life right now.

1. Misterwives

If the name itself doesn't reel you in, then their music will for sure. This indie pop band based in New York got its name from their own take on "sisterwives." With a female lead vocalist and an all male band, they joke that they all got married, giving themselves the name "Misterwives." From Oceans, to Coffins, to Reflections, these songs will make you feel so many things.

2. Halsey

This American singer/songwriter began writing at 17 years old. She has a performance in Madison Square Garden that is sold out, and that show isn't until August 2016. Her music is described as electropop and she is bold and beautiful. "I will never be anything but honest," she states on her website. Check out her songs Ghost,Roman Holiday, and Hold Me Down.

3. Vance Joy

Although this very talented man is the opening act for Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour, he is still very underrated. You may know him from his songs Mess is Mine or his more popularRiptide. He has the voice of an angel and he is just as exceptional live. So look into this Australian singer/songwriter and a few of his beautiful songs: Georgia and Fire and the Flood.

4. BØRNS

If you have heard 10,000 Emerald Pools, then you have heard this artist's heavenly sound. Garrett Borns, from Michigan, just released his debut album. He is said to have music that mixes folk, glam and electric rock. But really does that not sound like a beautiful combination? Electric Love and The Emotion are two songs that, in enough words, will sweep you off your feet.

5. Leon Bridges

His music definitely has a throwback sound, but that just makes it that much more amazing. This talented young man from Fort Worth, Texas has an incredibly smooth voice. With gospel and soul sounds check out his most popular song, Coming Home.

6. Hayley Kiyoko

You might recognize Hayley from a Disney Channel Original Movie, but don't let that scare you away, she is still extremely talented. She is an actress, a singer, and a songwriter. So if you haven't heard Girls Like Girls, then you're truly missing out.

7. New Hollow

New Hollow is a band from New Albany, Ohio. This band is slowly but surely on the rise to becoming music's new obsession. Their genre is rock, and a lot of their music sounds like something anyone growing up in the 90s would have listened to. She Ain't You will definitely give you amazing 90s vibes, because it's just that great.

8. Jacob Whitesides

If you want to be straight up serenaded just listen to Jacob Whitesides. He has the voice of an angel and he might just become one of your top five to "sing you to sleep." His music genre is described as "melodic pop" so if that doesn't make you swoon then you must be pretty tough to please. Let's Be Birds is a beautiful song, but if you aren't into the whole "talented-young-man-who-writes-his-own-music" thing, then you should at least check out his cover of Hey There Delilah.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
