I take the train often. Not nearly as much as a regular commuter, or even my mom, who goes into New York almost every week for work. But with semi-regular trips home or into the city, I spend a lot of time on New Jersey Transit trains. Here are some of the random thoughts I have while taking those train rides:
Feeling like such a grown-up taking the train into the big city all by yourself.
Thinking of how much happier you seem than everyone else on the train, because every train rider seems miserable on the outside for no reason.
Feeling like your in a movie travel montage as you watch the scenery change outside (even though you go maybe 20 miles).
... or feeling like the main character of an emo music video who just stares out the window and sings (listening to music while riding helps this).
Listening to music with headphones and trying not to sing along or dance too much in front of other riders.
Using a laptop and feeling like a New Yorker that takes their work everywhere (even if you're not working).
Just being ready to get wherever you're going.
And yes, I did use two Dean Winchester gifs. You are welcome. Ride safely, y'all.
