Thank goodness for spring break! As things start to wind down and break approaches, have you thought about what you're going to do over break? Well, here's a few things you could do over break:

1. Take A Trip.

Hey, there's no classes, no assignments due (hopefully!), and no reason why you need to lock yourself indoors. Take the car or plan a road trip and explore some destination like a new lake, amusement park, or just go out to eat at a restaurant far, far away!

2. Partake In Art.

Whether that be learning to make jewelry, finishing that painting you started last break, or just going out to a movie with friends, do yourself a favor and let that creativity suppressed by all the work you've been occupied with flow out of you.

3. Fill In The Gaps With Family.

Let's be honest, FaceTime calls aren't the same as face-to-face meeting. Either you haven't seen your family since winter break, or you've failed to visit your family that lives 30 minutes from campus. Take a day or time in spring break to reconnect and spend that quality family time together.

4. Clean Out Your Past Space.

See, you haven't been home in a while, so most likely your room has too many things that you fail to use or want to use anymore. Sift through your room, make piles of things you don't want, take them to thrift shops or throw away, and then head to the mall to pickup more new stuff. Bring in the new stuff and get rid of the old stuff!

5. Value Nature.

We're always cooped up in our dorms, like seriously get out and get some air. Take a hike on a nice trail, drink coffee in your backyard, or catch fish at a lake. The weather's getting better and Mother Nature is waking up from its beauty nap; so, enjoy it!

6. Study A Little.

Okay, don't push you're books completely aside. Maybe try to get ahead in your work or catch up on what you've missed because trust me the end of the year and finals are closer than you think.

7. Get Some Sleep!

If you don't sleep during spring break, I just don't know what to tell you. You're doing something wrong.

Break is almost here, so make sure to enjoy it because these breaks what help kick-start the spirit to finish strong. We're almost near the end of the academic year!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
