7 reasons why I am excited about fall.

(Truthfully it’s because it’s that much closer to Christmas, but the leaves are pretty too)

7 reasons why I am excited about fall.

Fall. One of the most beautiful times of the year. Everyone’s back to school, leaves are changing, pumpkins are popular again, corn mazes, and Halloween. Its just a good time. In celebration of that, here’s 7 reasons why I am excited about fall.

1. Sweatshirts!!!

I love sweatshirts. You can’t go wrong with a good sweatshirt. Though I rock them all year (including summer when I can, because they make me feel secure) fall is the best time for them. It is cold and crisp but not so cold that you need a winter Jacket. You can never go wrong with a trusty sweatshirt.

2. Pumpkin spice...and pumpkins in general.

Say what you will about it, but pumpkin spice is amazing. A good Pumpkin Spice Latte is fall in a cup. I also adore all the pumpkin Spice food that is out there. (Not because I will eat it, but because I like knowing it’s there) I am excited about pumpkins in general. They add class to everything, they’re beautiful and they have a lot of potential.

3. Apple Cider Donuts....and hot apple Cider!!

I made apple cider donuts for the first time last Saturday and they were amazing. Apple cider donuts are severely underrated and deserve more appreciation. I am also excited because this commences Hot Apple Cider season.

4. Fall Candles.

I love candles!!!! They’re pretty, they make everything smell better and they really tie a room together. I love fall candles! I love candles that smell like either a crisp fall day, apple anything or pumpkin anything! Candles really enhance the fall season. Fall is a perfect excuse to go buy more.

5. Halloween/Fall Movies

I don’t know about you, but I have 3 Halloween movies that I have to watch every year because they just make the season for me.

They are:

It’s the Great Pumpkin! Charlie Brown

The nightmare before Christmas

Hocus Pocus

6. The month of November.

I love the month of November. It is my favorite month out of the whole year. This is because October’s beauty still lingers, we are on the threshold of the Christmas season, Thanksgiving is coming, the sky has a constant gray haze to it and it’s a perfect cold. November is an underrated month. but I love it because of what’s coming. I love it because it is the month where everyone comes together in gratitude. I just love it.

Finally...

7. Because it means change is coming.

Fall is a season of change. All the old leaves die in order to give way to something new. In their death we are left with beauty. Sometimes we have to break a little in order to heal more; sometimes we lose things in order to bring forth a better life. Fall happens because winter is coming and after winter comes spring. I love fall because it is a season of change. Don’t be afraid of change, change happens in order to bring something better. Hang tight, and enjoy this season! Hold onto the hope that something better is coming.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"‭‭

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
