Is laziness really that bad?

7 Reasons Why Being Lazy Is Actually Better

I swear laziness is in my blood. It comes so natural to me, like a natural born talent, something I actually don't have to work at. I'm so confused when people tell me they can't sit still and watch TV or read a book or just sit on the couch and be on your phone or computer. What? That's a thing? You actually have to work at...doing nothing? They, in turn, start to look at me like I'm the weird one, like I'm the one they should pity. Mmmmm..no. I'm not the one running around going crazy because I have all these tasks that need to get done. I mean do all their tasks on that busy schedule real tasks? Are you sure they just didn't think of something else to add like Drop Of Dry Cleaning For The Blazer I Wore Once? Who does that? Who even drops of dry cleaning?

1. Well Rested

First and foremost, those who are more lazy than their fellow peers tend to be well rested. They aren't the ones walking around yawning all the time and complaining about how tired they are. We actually sit down and enjoy the comforts of not doing anything.

2. Beauty Sleep

While we're at it, beauty sleep is probably the best part about being lazy. Generally, those of us to practice the art of lazy sleep more often. We don't have bags under our eyes as we walk around with our caffeinated beverages, wondering how in the world we'll make the rest of the day. Under eye cream? No, that's called sleep.

3. Stress Free...Mostly

Laziness=Stress Free...at least, most of the time. We aren't running around stressed out because we have all these deadlines and goals that we have to reach. Eh..we're cool to just sit back and relax. I mean don't get me wrong, figuring out which Netflix show to watch next can be pretty stressful, but we'll manage somehow.

4. Best Sweats

Those of us who are wearing sweats or, as I've dubbed them "comfy clothes", are experts when it comes to the ultimate lounging experience. Not only do we have the best shorts/spanx/sweats/leggings, but the best tank top/t-shirt/sweatshirt combo. Lets not forget fuzzy socks. I swear I have a million of them stuffed in my drawer and I'm always looking for new ones.

5. Best Blankets

The best "comfy clothes" have to go with the best blankets. I mean, really, do you think we just use whatever is around? No. They might not all look the same or be the same, but we all have a designated lounging blanket. And if we see a roommate/ family member using said blanket, your inner Golum comes out and it's not very pretty.

6. Up on the Latest Netflix Binge

Nothing like sitting back, relaxing, and watching 14 hours straight of Stranger Things. The great part about being a bit more lazy than those around you, is your on the up and up on all things Netflix (and let's not forget HGTV. Fixer Upper anyone?). The new season Fuller House came out on Netflix? You're so there. Updated on all things Orange is the New Black? You fountain of knowledge, you.

7. Troll The Internet

Those of us who use our time wisely and do all things lazy are trolling around on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc. You are the first to know Trump's latest Tweet and are the first to comment on it. You've got your Pinterest Boards categorized and have those delicious looking Pins saved on your recipe board for those times you think you might actually cook. You even manage to spare some time for the occasional Facebook "discussion" which we all know is actually a rant and not at all friendly.

Let's face it. While these are FANTASTIC, being lazy every day is...tiring. I start to get anxious and think about all the things I haven't gotten done yet. You have to admit, it feels really good when you accomplish something like homework, taxes, laundry, or just putting your dishes in the sink. And maybe, possibly, I am a bit envious of those who are active all the time. It's just so tiring to keep up with them. That's when I usually change into my sweats, curl up in my ultra soft blanket, and pull out my book.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
