In the third grade, I was assigned to write a research paper on a semi-controversial topic (as controversial as a third grader can be) from a list that was provided. One topic clearly stood out to me -- animal testing.

As I dug further and further into research I found myself in a different world. My blood boiled and face turned a deep red as I came across images of rabbits with matted, oozing eyes. It was at this moment, as I looked into the eyes of suffering animals, that I decided to make a change.

This list includes some of my favorite cruelty-free products that I have come across over the years. Personally, I have purchased each of these products at Target or any other drugstore.

1. Acure Brightening Facial Scrub

This facial scrub by Acure has become one of my very favorite skin products. The grainy texture makes for a great deep cleansing face wash leaving your skin soft and bright! I also recommend adding Acure's Brilliantly Brightening Face Mask to your weekly skin regimen.

2. The Seaweed Bath Co. Eucalyptus & Peppermint Hydrating Body Wash

I have fallen absolutely in love with The Seaweed Bath Co.! Paired with the Eucalyptus & Peppermint Body Cream your body will LOVE you. Both the body wash and lotion leave you feeling relaxed and your body rejuvenated.

I have more recently come across NYX eyeliner and it has quickly become a must for any edgy look. That's The Point goes on smooth and dark guaranteeing all day wear.

Pacifica products are always a must. From micellar water to eyeshadow and deodorant wipes, this brand is nothing but excellent. This lightweight mascara is great for a natural look on any day.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
