6 Tips To Make Your Tony Party A Show Stopper

Since 1947, The Tony Awards have been presented to celebrate excellence in theatre. And has a Broadway nerd since 1997, it is one of my favorite events of the year. You can have your Oscars, Grammys, and Golden Globes… the Tony’s are my night to pig out with all of my friends and celebrate theatre and get a taste of the best that the Broadway season has to offer.

Hosting a Tony Awards viewing party is a great way to celebrate with friends at home and have a good time without paying upwards of $1,000 for a ticket to the actual show!

So here are some tips and tricks for hosting a great Tony Party!

1. Make a Pinterest Board

Pin anything from decor ideas to cupcake recipes, champagne jello shots, and Tony awards bingo; Pinterest is a great place to organize all of your ideas in one place!

2. Invite all your biggest Broadway Nerd Friends

Send out a mass text, e-vite, or create a facebook event… but gather all of your broadway music loving thespians together in one place. Why live tweet when you can gab with your friends over a boozy drink?

3. Pump up your guests before the show

I’m talking about watching all the Neil Patrick Harris performances and that time that Cynthia Erivo stopped the show with her performance of “I’m Here” and creating a Spotify playlist of all of your favorite Broadway sing-a-longs to set the mood before the awards show.

4. Print out those Tony Ballots!

Create a contest with your guests during the show by seeing who can guess the most winners or play a couple rounds of Tony Bingo. You can even make gift bags or tiny awards to give out as a prize at the end of the night for all of your winners.

5. Serve Broadway-themed food

There is nothing more fun than a cleverly themed party! A fun way to keep the theme is to theme your food and drinks around some of your favorite Broadway shows or musicals, or theatre in general! Make “Krabby Patties” for SpongeBob the Musical, a clambake for Carousel, or Kalteen Bars for the Regina George of your friend group.

6. Don’t forget to tune in on June 10 at 8 pm ET!

Tune into CBS Sunday, June 10th at 8 pm to see Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban host the 72nd annual Tony Awards!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
