When you're a kid, everything is easier. Then, you hit the glorious age of 18 and everything changes. From having less free time to learning how to live on your own, growing up can be a huge adjustment.

1. Sleeping Patterns

As a kid, you never want to sleep, as there are always so many things to do during the day. When you grow up, you cherish every minute of sleep you can get.

2. Laundry

Growing up, you get so used to your laundry just magically appearing on your bed all nice and folded for you. When you move out of your parents' house, you learn how hard it is to keep up with the ongoing cycle of laundry.

3. Making Friends

As an adult, it becomes much harder to meet new people in your busy schedule, plus it seems more awkward trying to make friends. Children can easily make new friends and can be friends with anyone and everyone!

4. Money

The only time you ever worried about money as a child was whenever you wondered what to use your $2.00 allowance for.. a pack of gum or baseball cards? Now, you have to worry about paying for food, rent, the phone bill, etc.

5. School

Whether you have graduated college, didn't go to college, or you are still in college; school becomes much different. If you're still in college, school is much harder and you carry much more responsibility. If you're not in college, you adjust from going to school every day to going to work every day.

6. Learning Lessons

Adulthood teaches a person some very hard life lessons, but they are lessons we must all learn. Growing up is a beautiful part of life, and though you don't want to leave the joy of childhood behind, there are so many new things to discover as you grow up.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
